Easterseals Miracle League of North Oakland

Easterseals Michigan, in partnership with Independence Township and Orion Township, are committed to constructing a new fully accessible baseball field. The new field will be called The Miracle League of North Oakland and will be located in Friendship Park at the corner of Clarkston and Baldwin Roads in Lake Orion. The Miracle League of North Oakland will remove the barriers that keep children with disabilities off the baseball field and let them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. Since the main barriers for these children arise from the natural grass fields used in conventional youth leagues, Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, synthetic turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. The facility will include a press box, concession building and accessible restrooms.
