I have been working at Easter Seals of Middle Georgia for two full weeks now. I got my first paycheck this past Friday and I just dont have the words to describe the great feeling it was to actually have some money. Granted it wasnt very much 7.25 per hour for 30 hours comes out to 217.50. But it sure beats the big goose I get for staying at home and not working. All I can truly say is God bless all the wonderful people dedicated to helping the less fortunate.08172021UPDATE ON THIS REVIEWThe year 2020 really turned out to be a bust. April 1 2020 we were notified of the Covid-19 pandemic and informed that Easter Seals Middle Georgia would be laying employees off and that they were closing down for two weeks. Then we were called back and worked a week and then laid off for another two weeks. Then back to work for a few weeks and then laid off. I was laid off permanently in September and because of the stimulus payments I had to file taxes for 2020 and according to my W-2 form I made a whopping 9800 for an entire year. Needless to say I was pretty depressed over this whole mess. So finally on Sunday March 22 2021 I loaded up a U-Haul truck and moved down to Florida because news reports indicated that Florida was opening up and there were jobs available. Joe Biden kept mentioning that minimum wage should be upped to 15 per hour and I knew that Easter Seals Middle Georgia was not going to be paying more than 7.25 per hour. So I moved to Florida and I have since checked back with other employees of E.S.M.G. and they are still struggling along with their meager 7.25 per hour with no raises in sight. So my decision to leave their employ was the correct decision for me. Good luck to my friends still employed by this non-profit organization and I hope things get back to normal for you.
