Dr. Lara Wakefield

Dr. Lara Wakefield has over 25 years of experience working with children with special needs as a parent advocate and speech-language pathologist. She is co-owner of Smarter Steps, LLC which is a parent and professional education consulting service. She has researched inclusive approaches in public school settings, early literacy development, IDEA law, social skills development, and evidence-based practice approaches for selecting therapy apps. Empowering parents and professionals with strategies to make lives better for children with special needs is her main goal in life.
