I came to this Department of Human Services looking for assistance with applying for Disability. The DHS in Centralia directed me to come here because they didnt know how to help me. These folks didnt have much in the way of information or resources either but they were pleasant to talk to while trying to figure out where I should go next. I understand that rural areas can lack in advocacy but I find the lack of clear communication between agencies to be incredibly upsetting. One hand doesnt know what the other is doing and it results in grasping at straws. The lack of information online is also inconvenient. Had I known that the DHS didnt offer services that are listed on the website admittedly run by the state I would not have spent my finite energy and resources on a wild goose chase.

Very slow and barely answers the phone. Not to mention that they cant keep anything organized I have filed and faxed them tons of stuff when I was pregnant and after I had my kids and when something doesnt turn out right they say its my fault because they didnt receive anything from me.

They are finding any reason they can to cut people off of their medical cards. They claim they dont receive information that was faxed to them or they dont send information theyre supposed to. Then theyll cut you off for not turning it in with no notice. The front desk people there have always been nice but theres something in the back of the house thats not jiving.

Came to this place to get medical when I was pregnant. Before I left after doing all the paper work etc I asked if they needed my proof of pregnancy. Was told no that they didnt. Waited for my card to come in. Got a letter stating that they needed it after all. Went back and gave it to them and then got my card. After I gave birth 30 weeks later I was 8 weeks pregnant when I came in to get medical I was told by the nurses to add my son to my insurance. Called and was told my medical was canceled. I told them it shouldnt be and that I was told to add my son to my insurance. They didnt put down that I was pregnant. We didnt even know you were pregnant. Its not on your application. The lady on the phone says to me. At this time after my sons birth Im on Paxil. I have a total of 3 months until that runs out. Youre not supposed to stop paxil cold turkey. The withdrawal is horrible. Ive put in a total of 2 applications needing medical. Because they messed up1 my son missed his 2 month shots and check up2 I had to and still going through Paxil withdrawal3 have medical bills to pay after the birth of my son for getting a check up4 struggling with our household bills because we have to pay those bills5 my son is sick with a cold currently DEC 4 2017 and cant be seen if it elevates to a fever etc.Ive been to a few states TX MO MT NV and got medical or Medicaid and NEVER had this happen. I know how to apply and what I need to show up with. This was a fault on their behalf.
