About Developmental Educational Assistance Program

The Developmental Educational Assistance Program (DEAP) is a not for profit organization, organized in 1976, that provides education, encouragement and opportunities to build skills through a variety of services across 17 eastern Montana counties. DEAP targets their supports to families who are raising a child with assessed developmental delays or who are trying to build their parenting skills, adults with disabilities and young adults aging out of the foster care system. DEAP also administers a statewide respite program that helps give a break to caregivers providing constant care to a loved one. DEAP successfully administers services through contracts awarded by the State of Montana’s Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) including Developmental Disability Services, Child and Family Services, and Early Childhood and Family Support Division and Senior and Long term care division. DEAP continues to respond to opportunities to expand services that will strengthen our communities. DEAP also seeks out private and public funding sources that can support people’s essential needs in more flexible ways- filling in the gaps.
