About Development is Child's Play

Development is Child’s Play! is a multidisciplinary pediatric facility with highly skilled speech and language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists specializing in sensory integration. Serving the Southern San Francisco Bay area since 1991, our focus is to help our clients and their families succeed in meeting life’s challenges. Services are provided for individuals with sensory processing disorders, delays in development, or motor coordination difficulties that may contribute to problems in motor skills and daily living tasks including eating, playing, sleeping, dressing, toileting, behavioral and emotional responses, and speech / communication, learning, or social interactions. We serve children primarily 2-12 years of age. However, we do provide reduced rate infant screenings as a form of community outreach and involvement because of our specialty in sensory integration. We also work with adolescents and adults needing our services.

Founding Story

I became an OT because it was important to me to have a career where I made a positive impact and contributed to the overall well-being of others. I became a business owner because I wanted to guide the practice towards a more holistic approach of meeting the needs of our families in a way that is much greater than I could ever do as an individual therapist, while still maintaining the same high quality services that have been part of Development is Child’s Play for decades.”

Beaming Review

We worked with one OT at a time, but I had a chance to witness several others at work, also. They are all extremely competent with their subject matter knowledge and ability to work with kids, special needs or not. When we did have a PT that wasn't a great fit for working with children, she didn't pass the probationary period. I believe that DICP is a stellar agency.
