The facility is clean and bright. There is plenty of cardio equipment even when its busy. The strength training equipment is sufficient as well. The lap pool is adequate for laps. The upstairs track looks down over the basketball courts and has hanging bags for boxing and the like. There is a racquet ball court and training studio. The family pool is warm and inviting. The staff are friendly and efficient. Im happy I joined.

Im only leaving 1 star so I can write this review. DO NOT let your children attend the summer day camp. This facility allowed children to be bullied without any consequences. There is no accountability and the children are not supervised throughout the day. When incidents of bullying occur they dont take action yet blame the children who were bullied. The way they handle situations is absolutely disgusting and very concerning.

We have happily belonged to the Y for about 3 years. I previously belonged to a 24 hour place in town and it was dirty and mismanaged...members were maintaining it for the owners. The Decatur Y has something for everything weights cardio machines pools gyms personal training and classes. I always feel safe and the staff is very friendly. Common sense practices such as locking your car or personal belongings is a good idea no matter what gym u go to. Great prices for what you get. I enjoy the TVs music and free wi fi. Keep up the good work YMCA

So glad to be back Due to the COVID-19 the Y closed on March 16 and reopened fully on June 29. We certainly missed everything and everyone. The staff has gone through great lengths to keep us all safe by sanitizing and practicing social distancing spacing equipment etc. Great job. Thank you all so much.

My daughter just completed her first 6 weeks of swim her with Casey. When she first started she was afraid to get her face wet didnt trust anyone near her and would only play along the perimeter do the pool. She now is very confident able to swim the length of the pool without help and has kk issues or problems while in the pool. She even decided to have a swim party for her 8th birthdayThe cost was minimal and the staff was very accommodating in helping us find the best time that work with our schedule.

My step daughter takes swimming lessons here. They are reasonably priced we have been thinking of becoming members for the added discount. Everyone weve dealt with there has been really friendly helpful. They facilities are relatively clean well kept.

Ever since I joined in the Goodheart Center there has been a spa available Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings when I go for therapy and an occasional class. For the past month they have been cleaning the spa on Wednesday mornings. This is not good service. It is like cleaning the carpet in a restaurant dining room during dinner on Friday night. There are at least 8 women who use the spa on Wednesday mornings. I was in Wednesday afternoon and there were only three using it in two hours. These regular cleaning jobs should be done during off hours. I got no response to my comment card submitted last week. Some things are very wrong there.

Y cares program is a joke a discriminatory. My cousin Michael was on the application and in the same household and was denied for family membership assistance. He has avascular necrosis and severe osteoartritis and needs low impact water exercise to ease stiffness and help keep range of motion as ordered by doctor yet Y cares Coordinator Paul Reinert denied him membership. Y cares alright only about money. I would not recommend this Y to anyone with medical and financial difficulty. Save yourself the humiliation
