Introduction
Hi! I’m Deanna Schryver-Hardy, a licensed speech-language pathologist and founder of Western Sierra Speech & Language. With over 16 years of experience, I’m passionate about helping children and young adults develop the communication skills they need to connect, grow, and thrive. I believe therapy should be individualized, engaging, and built on each person’s unique strengths. My approach is compassionate, family-centered, and neurodiversity-affirming, with an emphasis on empowering both clients and their families. At Western Sierra Speech & Language, my mission is simple: to help every child and every parent find their voice.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
I would describe myself as compassionate, dedicated, and empowering. Compassionate, because I believe every individual deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued. I strive to create a welcoming environment where children and families feel supported and encouraged. Dedicated, because I am committed to helping each client reach their fullest potential through individualized, evidence-based therapy and meaningful connections. Empowering, because I believe communication is more than words; it's about building confidence, independence, and relationships. My greatest reward is helping clients discover their strengths while giving families the knowledge and tools to support their loved ones.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to serve children, adolescents, and young adults ages 2–25 who experience challenges with speech, language, and social communication. My experience includes supporting individuals with speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, language delays, autism, and complex communication needs, including those who benefit from augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). I especially enjoy working with families who value collaboration and want to be actively involved in their loved one's progress. My goal is to provide individualized, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that builds communication skills, fosters confidence, and empowers every client to express themselves authentically.
