While the majority of the coaches exhibit competence unfortunately the staffs level of helpfulness falls short. During my inquiries about my childs recurring skin issues after swim class their defensive response made it seem as though I was assigning blame. Additionally their lack of attentiveness and frequent distractions hindered effective communication. My intention was simply to seek advice on whether specific skin creams could prevent these post-swim lesson skin problems.

My daughter has been learning to swim for almost 3 years at DACA Swim SchoolCupertino. The indoor pool is great for escaping Californias strong sunshine in summer. Also the pool water is a little bit warm in winter which makes kids feel more comfortable when they have to swim during cold days. Besides the staff and instructors are friendly. Some of the coaches are really patient and professional like Edward Sonia Amanda and so on. However sometimes the new coaches will be assigned to students. It takes time for both new coaches and students to get used to each other. In general this is a great place to learn to swim especially for people who live nearby.

The teachers keep changing so my son who is already struggling to learn is stuck in the same level even after 8 months.

My son tried two swim schools before DACA and we finally found a great place for him to learn. His swim teach Sean is super nice and patient for kids. Highly recommend.

Dont enroll your kid here if you are looking for a steady instructor. Here instructors change every week and kids need to again adapt to the new instructor. All the experienced instructors become supervisors or something so they dont get into water.

My son is attending here for more than 5 years and the main issue is the trainers are school boys and girls and Every other week there is a new one for him and there is no consistency in their methods. I want to be objective here in my feedback but I wish there is a set method of training at his level orange. These practices would have a set back on kids progress and confidence and I informed the lady in-charge in a nice way and she was rude with me saying I can pull out if I want.and Im considering that

My kids both go here. My son graduated from the swim school and is now at the pre competitive level at De Anza college. My daughter is four and swims proficiently. Weve always had amazing instructors and great customer service. We feel very lucky to be a part of the DACA community.

My son 8 y.o. has been enrolled for a month now and I am very pleased with the staffs service. Every time I talk to any of the staff members my request is granted. Either by phone or in person I am very satisfied with the service. The facilities are very clean and the chlorine smell is much less then in other similar swim schools we have been before. I cannot say about my sons progress yet the time has been too short for that but he is enjoying the classes so far.

Registered for their Splash classes and later for their adult swim lessonsApril and May 2013. Some instructors were good and some are not. I felt the instructors who are good for teaching kids need not necessarily be good with adults. Probably because adults come with a lot of fears predispositions and a much much slower learning pace than kids. The ability to relate to the adults difficulties and be able to communicate in ways that would yield in the right body movements in water is possible only for a more experienced instructor. Adults do not have the same flexibility as kids. I encountered one very good instructor and one not good instructor so I guess its best to enroll for splash classes and determine which instructor suits best before committing to a month long time slot with an unknown instructor for an adult class. I say this because their class change policies and cancellation policies are quite unfriendly. They theoretically say you can call 24 hours in advance to cancel a class but they do not honor when we want to exercise. There are no make up classes. Does not help for most adults. I understand that they do not want people to unduly take advantage of rescheduling classes but even for a sincere learner their policies are truly deterring continuity or value for money.I agree with others about the change facilities. Ive seen an almost torn and falling apart shower curtain for a two months before they replaced it in the ladies change facility. They have just one shower in the change facility. For the traffic they have they will need at least one more. The current shower has a rusty bench and not that clean floorsmay be difficult to maintain in such facilities.
