About Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute – Owatonna

Children develop at different rates. At times, some children need extra help to move, think, communicate, learn and even play—sometimes it’s because of a condition or syndrome they are experiencing and other times it’s not. In both cases pediatric rehabilitation services can provide the extra care and help they need to improve their skills in movement, speech, feeding, self care skills or overall quality of life. Services are focused on play because play is a child’s work; it’s how kids explore their environment and develop new skills and grow and it’s fun! Programs are available to kids of all ages, from infants to youth who are in transition to adulthood.

I cant agree more with the only other review about therapy needing to be hands on. But credit must be given where its due. Brandon in OT is hands on. Hes excellent. Tries other treatment during office visits other than the home exercise program. Ryan the massage therapist is the worlds best Mixed review due to PT services.

When I come for physical therapy I really am coming for the expertise of a full-fledged Physical Therapist and not a PTA Physical Therapy Assistant who does not have near the background or training of a PT. If you must insist on scheduling over half the sessions with only a PTA then at least tell me up front. The sessions I had here with the PTA were worthless. I was telling her what to do and she was very inexperienced and lacking in knowledge. Also if I wanted a fitness program I would go to a fitness center or club or hire a personal trainer. I dont know what spending time bike riding or walking has to do with the excruciating acute immediate pain of my injury. Please work on my injury and the pain that is taking my breath away firstI would rather pick up on the fitness on my own time later or towards the end of therapy. It would be different if the walking or biking were used first as a warm-up or to get blood flowing. It always came at the end of a session and I just dont see the logic...especially when I am in such pain.Plus I have never known these guys to do any hands on therapy whatsoever. Which is unfortunate. A lot of injuries and conditions do require it.These guys have a brand new very excellent total state-of-the art facility. But it belies the end results. It doesnt mean your therapy will be successful. Ive had to use this facility several times over the years unfortunately I always ended up with mixed or no results and went elsewhere. It might work for someone else. But is has consistently not worked for me.One star for being there and trying. One star for excellent facilities.I think there are better places to go--one being In Touch Physical Therapy. Start with the best first and save your time and money. Youll probably end up there anyway.
