Cortica - Westlake Village

Trying to talk to anyone at the front desk is impossible. After a lengthy introduction message none of the options work to speak to someone at the clinic not good.

UPDATE after two years I tried out Cortica again. I was introduced to someone in the company who promised better service. While we were able to meet with a neurologist who I like still services are unavailable. The waitlists are 8-12 months. When we were finally assigned an ABA therapist the morning of our first appointment I received an email to confirm the arrival time and then another email an hour later to say she was no longer available to work with us It seems like Cortica is in the business of assessing kids and not in the business of actually servicing them. Oh and I was billed for 12 hours of administrative clerical work for an observation of my son that took only 1 hour. When the assessment was recommended to me the communication about how it would be billed was poor. I had no idea it would cost so much. Im extremely disappointed and would tell you to stay away.I dont know how this place has a 4.8 star rating. We scheduled an intake appointment which took 6 weeks to make. That was fine. Our intake N.P. was amazing. Then everything went to crap. She recommended our son see their neurologist and have music therapy speech therapy and occupational therapy. Sounded goodThey didnt have a neurologist on staff so we were put on a waitlist. What the hell Why recommend something you cant provideThen speech therapy they were booking five months out Ridiculous. Occupational therapy wasnt much better with a four month wait.Then two weeks later I got a call that their occupational therapist quit so we were being moved to December That would be an eight month wait.When we finally got a neurology appointment the morning of I received a call that the doctor had an emergency and needed to reschedule. My husband took off work and we had 45 minutes notice of the cancellation. Funny how we are charged 50 for cancelling less than 72 hours in advance but they can cost us a vacation day.I just cancelled all my future appointments with this joke of a company. My son never received services. They make their money offering false hope and promises during intake appointments. They have NO staff. Dont bother with them. Oh and when they survey you to get feedback about your dissatisfaction they dont follow up. Where is the call I was supposed to get Seems like they have no interest in helping my child or making things right. Seriously disappointed.

As a parent who has tried to find an ABA clinic that treats the child with care and compassion for years - this is not at all what we experienced on our first day.They always say the first impression is as good as it gets and if thats the case Im worried of how continuing services would be.The therapists are kind enough but the actual department as a whole is cold deflective and operates as a corporation and business - focused on money not on experience or the concerns of the parent.I worked my behind off to get my daughter into Cortica for a year. Both financially and from a healthcare standpoint and the stress and effort was unfortunately for nothing.I hate leaving negative reviews but Im so tired of autism treatment services being conducted as an industry and not as a service for the betterment of the child.I believe better options exist.

The therapists are amazing kind and flexible. I cant say the same about the scheduling department they dont respond quickly to emails.There are constantly substitutes and they dont give you 24 hour notice.

Cortica has wonderful therapists and thorough communication I truly feel Cortica has benefited my child and family as a whole. My child loves her therapist and looks forward to the positive fun learning environment her therapist facilitates. Our family chose not to go the ABA route - they are extremely respectful and open to working with my family to incorporate what is best for my Autistic child. I recommend Cortica to any family looking for the right support.

Cortica has been amazing for us. Very organized everybody knows what is going on which shows that the doctortherapists communicate with each other. The goals set have been very concrete and manageable and my son has been reaching his projected goals with Corticas help. I have recommended Cortica to several people experiencing similar challenges with their children.

We had a wonderful and enlightening welcome session with the nurse practitioner. I also loved how professional everyone was and how smooth the process was. Im looking forward to my daughter starting OT and Music Therapy

My son Loves going to CorticaEvery member of their staff has been attentive supportive and caring. They have gathered an incredible team of professionals.My son is growing and thriving more than I could have hoped. Truly a dream come true.

Cortica is amazing its like having an entire team behind your child. The doctors the therapists the coordinators are so caring and helpful. We had really lost hope but the therapies at Cortica have made a world of difference in our daughters behavior and attitude. Being on the spectrum is a lifelong journey but Cortica has set us on a new course and weve all learned more coping and behavior strategies. Even as a parent you learn so much and gain new insights. Plus the facility is just amazing when you visit you will see how safe modern and welcoming it is.

He is the Neurologist I have been long searching for During our Consult for my sons complex case Dr. Shapiro was present kind and respectful. He is a deep listener working in partnership for my childs best outcome. With empathy Dr. Shapiro provided customized knowledge and expertise specific to our needs with cutting edge precision. Dr. Shapiros ability to work alongside me as parent with such high level care places him at the top of his game. He is a gift to Neurology a breath of fresh air.
