About Collin County Children's Advocacy Center

Children’s advocacy centers provide a safe, child-friendly environment where law enforcement, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), prosecution, medical and mental health professionals may share information and develop effective, coordinated strategies sensitive to the needs of each unique case and child. The CAC model operates by bringing services to the child instead of the child going from place to place to tell their stories and get help.

They are VERY non accommodating. If your child doesnt fit their cookie cutter they could care less. They will take your child and treat you as if they know better than you. And if you dont jump thru their hoops they will not compromise to help the child. This place is great for parents who get their children taken away because the parents wont have a voice and that is how they like to function- no accountability. They will even LIE to not answer your concerns. This is NOT just the therapist this is LEADERSHIP ALL THE WAY UP C suite. They will refer that their charity policies are the Law of Texas. If you are looking for a partner in your childs mental health DONT GO HERE If you want names you can message me... I will give them to you as to the Who I am referring to.

This place the Childrens Advocacy Center of Collin County is a joke and a money making game for Collin county. My children were taken from me years ago 2007. Debbie Pendergrass was an old caseworker at the time. She was harsh and all about the court system making money. She is probably retired now I hope she lives well with her decisions she made in breaking up families. My kids are grown up now 25 and 21 years old. We are still working through the hurt and confusion. The girls stated how they were placed in foster homes after foster homes. The caseworker lied to them and promised them toys to get them to go against me the parent. Angela Tucker is now a judge she benefited from my case and hurt of my family. I know other people should know they arent the only ones who have suffered from the hands of these people. This place is the biggest scam ever.

I had an amazing woman for my therapist. I recommend trying to get your child or yourself with Katie. Shes the absolute best and will make activities related to the topic of discussion to help you really get through it. I loved therapy because of her. We got to paint while I talked about trauma which healed me much faster than if I sat in a chair for an hour with nothing to do. They have special play rooms art rooms etc. for younger children in the new building. Highly recommend.

Great facility.Too bad the programming is a total waste of time and resources. No parenting training offered. Trying to force people into programs for drug and alcohol abuse when you never have used drugs or alcohol. If anything their program create more family problems that didnt originally exist.

No comment needed to tell you that this place does not like helping people after all. The receptionist was completely unavailable it seemed when she was sitting right there. It seemed like that was all she wanted to do was sit. and I mean literally she did not assist me with anything I needed help with. I literally had to call the hotline again through a different place altogether. I have PTSD F43.10 Depression and Anxiety. Being discouraged like that at a place like this really takes a shot at anyone struggling.

Amazing organization that helps children. Our office hosted a fundraiser toyclothing drive for them and collected so many needed items. They host all services for the children in 1 place. From police to CPS to counselors and more. They serve thousands of children....and they serve them for the rest of their life. What they do is Simply amazing. I hope that you consider giving to them too.

Great help to my adopted child Friendly staff and caring therapists. Also our caseworker was extremely persistent and made sure ALL accusations were taken seriously. She persuaded the courts to prolong a parole date so the creep couldnt get out. They also offer a lot of help for the kids like supplies for school and other essentials. Just amazing
