Coastal Kids Pediatrics - Laguna Niguel

This office is so hard to reach. You have to wait forever on hold and get sent to voicemail when trying to speak with the billing department. Its very frustrating.

I hate to have to post such a negative review because initially I was really impressed by the offices efficiency and friendliness helping my Son. BUT after waiting weeks for a referral and getting all kinds of explanations as to why there were delays nearly A MONTH LATER I was finally told that they do not make referrals and that I would have to contact my insurance myself - What a complete WASTE OF TIME and 1 month of my childs health going unchecked. Utterly incompetent.

Our visit to Coastal kids on May 3 2024 was made remarkable by Jills outstanding service. She was cheerfulness showed genuine care. Notably she informed me that our 18-year-old could continue to be seen at the practice until she turned 21. This was contrary to what we had been previously told and Jills clarification on this matter saved us from the hassle of seeking another doctor. Genuine empathy is scarce these days and Jills compassionate approach was refreshing. We also loved Dr Gillis.

Whenever I call this office I cant get ahold of anyone and when they call you back they hang up before the phone rings so it shows a missed call but you never get alerted. Very frustrating.

Our pediatrician along with a lot of other doctors left recently we were not notified. When I needed an emergency appointment I had to spend an hour on the phone between the office and my insurance to update the PCP. They had my son waiting in the office the whole time and wouldnt see him until the insurance information was updated. I also had another emergency with a different son that was incredibly stressful and they sent us to the wrong office for x-rays even though I called to confirm the address. It was incredibly frustrating.

I was initially very happy with the office when I moved to south county. However there has been a mass exodus of a number of doctors and the office manager. The remaining doctors and staff has done nothing to reach out to current patients to provide updates on ongoing care for their patients. The hold times for the receptionist to pick up calls are very long. When asking for guidance from the current staff as to next steps she was confrontation and not helpful. Being a parent of a daughter with a rare syndrome we found our doctor because of her expertise. We only hoped the current staff would be understanding and provide a little help to a concerned parent vs. just express her frustration with her current employment situation on us. Either way the remaining doctors should be updating clients that they will be taking over as the new primary with a simple introduction via phone or email update as a bare minimum.

Front Office Staff Nurses and PAs are all incredibly warm and kind Dr Harris is our pediatrician and hes so patient reasonable non judgmental and important for me as a FTM the opposite of an alarmist. I always feel at ease after an appointment with him

We havent been going here very long because we just moved to CA from NM but We are so glad we found this place. The front staff at the Laguna Niguel location are so helpful and very kind. Not once did they seem upset by the large medical records from our previous Dr. office. We see Dr. Salter and I can not tell you enough good things about her. She has made this transition so much easier for my kids and for me as a mom. My children love her and I love how knowledgeable she is and how she takes the time to listen to my concerns. We started going here 5 years ago with our firstborn and we have loved the doctor we have - but theyve become too busy. I took my 1 year old in for his check up a couple weeks ago and we were there for over 1.5 hours Just mainly waiting. Hes usually very calm and nothing was handled well - the eye test wasnt done well and scared him but wasnt even successful. Then we had to wait 45 min just to have a rushed conversation with our doctor and then we waited another 45 min just for his shots. They said they were so busy but this has become the norm. Seriously considering moving to another clinic.I also called when my son was wheezing a couple months ago and I was scared and they said they couldnt help me because I hadnt made an appointment in advance thats not the right way to handle that at all.

We have been going here for the last year since moving from TX. We LOVE Dr. Herrera and all the staff at Coastal Kids. Sometimes the wait to get back to the room can be a little long but weve never had to wait over 20 minutes past the appointment time. The wait to see the doctor once we are back in the room is maybe a few minutes at most. Staff are kind and patient to our two daughters and they take their time listening to our concerns and want to hear what the kids have to say as well Rooms are all painted beautifully which our kids love to look at. Highly recommend
