City of Eugene Recreation Services - Amazon Pool

The best pool in Eugene I recently moved here and the best thing I wanted to do was go to the pool They have 2 water slides one yellow short one with a drop off and a blue one that has a long body and is the kid one. There are two diving boards. One normal one and a high dive. Even higher than the high dive is the platform. At the platform you jump off a huge concrete platform into the pool. They have many laps in the huge pool also a family friend pool they have a big kiddie pool and another one with fun play stuff in it. Lines can get very very large so get to the pool fast. Sometimes over 20 min wait outside. Bring sunscreen especially for the line. Also very big snack shack with almost no wait. They have shower rooms available and have family changing rooms too. Great hot tub. There is a sand box area too.

We always miss the Amazon pool during the off season I took my 11 year old weekly this summer and it was always a really good experience. On very hot days or weekends you will want to arrive at least half an hour before opening for the afternoon session to get a shady spot in line. Bring books snack drinks etc and be prepared to wait. There were a few times this summer when we didnt actually get into the pool until a good 30 minutes after the doors opened but those were days we joined the line a little too late. I also found that mondays generally seem to be the quietest day to visit. The parking lot fills up quickly but the 28Hilyard bus runs by every 30 minutes on week days so depending on where youre coming from it may be more convenient to arrive by LTD.The lifeguards are all very alert and the ones who run the twisty slide are kind to the kids and will catch them at the bottom if they request it.The lockers one quarter are spacious and secure so you can feel safe leaving your valuables locked away while you swim.Overall a fantastic pool and a great low-cost activity for all ages on hot days.

Love the 15 foot platform slide and hot tub. Also diving board and dont personally like short steep slide. Sometimes an obstacle course. Nice grassy areas to spread out on. Kids areas and warm pool. Fun turtles spraying cold water and sand area for littlest ones. Food concession. Quarter lockers. Very fairly priced decent length rec swims. Lacks any type of reservation system and can get turned away. Fun outside lap swimming including evenings.

We came for a birthday party our admission was paid for ahead of time. When we arrived 2pm we were told we would not be allowed in because they were at capacity. If you take someones money in a reservation you need to hold their spot. A very sweet 8 year old boy only had 2 kids at his party and the other 10 were turned away. Terrible service.

We found this pool soon after moving to Eugene and felt immediately giddy at all the amenities. The price of admission is so affordable The life guards...

In terms of city pools Amazon really is pretty great. Plenty of fun stuff for kiddos. Acceptable number of lap swim lanes though the knowledge level of the average lap swimmer tends to be lacking in terms of swimming ettiquite. Long-course is a better bet than short course for lap swimming here. The pool accommodates both so check the schedule.

This place would be awesome if they were consistent. They dont have enough lifeguards to have half of the stuff open. You wait in line for hours just to get turned away cause theyre short staffed. The website isnt up to date with swim meets so have fun preparing to go just to get turned away at the door. This place has potential but right now it blows. Wont be coming back for a while.

The place was amazing and the temprature of the pool was great. But it was very anoying that we could not swim everywhere and beside that was everthing reserved for people who did aqua jogging or swimmingschools. This was not said on the counter. Because of this it was not very clear where I could and could not swim. Further more it was a great day to swim but it was not like I enjoyed swimming very much because of people who where concerned about what I was doing and whoe said that I must keep swimming back and forth so if I stopt at side people asked me why I stoped and al of those questions. So concluding the weather was great pool depth was good but the people and the rules where annoying and not very clear. So I think i would not come here another time.

Fun for the family. Super convenient and different pool. There is on site ice shake the kids love it play all day long

A clean public pool with a variety of swimming options - including dedicated swim lanes hot tub several diving boards and water slides. The drawback of this variety is that each section seems relatively cramped. There is a very active lifeguard patrol that surrounds the pool and moves every 15 or 20 min. which is excellent as it keeps the lifeguards alert. Pool entrance even for non-swimmers is 5 or 6.

Great Summer fun for families. Ume snack hack is delicious. The swim lesson instructors are amazing with the littles.
