Introduction
Hello! My name is Ciara Delgado. I am a fully licensed pediatric Speech Language Pathologist based in Redlands, CA. I believe therapy should feel engaging, empowering, and tailored to each child's unique strengths. I use a play-based, child-led approach grounded in naturalistic intervention. This supports generalization and meaningful skill development. I am passionate about empowering families, making therapy fun, helping little ones learn their first words or helping older kids refine their communication. Watching children build skills and confidence, seeing families feel supported is what inspires me everyday! My expertise include early intervention, speech and language disorders, and AAC. Families often describe me as fun, empathetic, patient and attentive, as I strive to create therapy feel positive and collaborative. Outside of work, I am a mom of two girls (ages 3 and 1). If I am not doing therapy or chasing around my toddlers you can find me at your local coffee shop, or doing yoga.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Patient - Patience creates safety, when a child feels safe, they communicate more. I allow children to process/respond, I respect developmental milestones, and celebrate small wins that build into growth.
Creative - Communication is complex, and no two children learn the same way. I turn my goals into playful, engaging activities, I adapt when something isn't working, and I use the child's intrest to spark meaningful language.
Supportive - I collaborate with parents, not just instruct. I validate concerns, and celebrate progress together. I provide guidance without judgement, and empower caregivers with tools they can use at home.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to support children and adolescents (birth–18) with a wide range of communication needs. I specialize in working with children with special needs, including those with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, orthopedic impairments, and complex communication profiles.
My clinical strengths include Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), speech sound disorders, language disorders, and fluency disorders (stuttering). I am especially passionate about supporting students who require individualized, functional communication systems to access their environment, build independence, and meaningfully connect with others.
Whether your child is learning their first words, navigating academic language demands, or building confidence in their speech, my approach is rooted in evidence-based practice, collaboration with families, and honoring each child’s unique communication style.
