Introduction

Hi, I’m Chidera Oyeka, a speech language pathologist based in San Jose, California. I primarily serve students in 6th through 12th grade, transition age youth, and adults. My approach is individualized, neurodivergent affirming, and evidence based. Drawing on my experience in school settings, I provide structured, high quality therapy tailored to each person’s communication goals, learning style, and strengths. I specialize in pragmatic language, social communication, PEERS informed support for young adults, and comprehensive speech and language assessments, including second opinions. I believe every individual deserves support that helps them feel confident, capable, and understood.

I work intentionally to create a space where students feel comfortable, not nervous, walking into sessions. When rapport is strong, intrinsic motivation grows, and therapy becomes something they understand and value rather than something being done to them. I am flexible and responsive to each student’s needs, adjusting pacing, structure, and expectations as appropriate. I also pride myself on explaining concepts in ways that make sense, breaking down complex social or communication skills into practical, understandable steps and meeting students exactly where they are.

I am best positioned to serve middle school and high school students, transition age youth, and adults who need support with social communication, pragmatic language, and navigating the social and academic expectations of school, work, and relationships. I work well with autistic individuals and those with ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and learning differences who benefit from explicit, strengths focused instruction.
