Chicago Neurological Services - Dr. Lenny Cohen, Oak Park, IL

I was very pleased with Dr. Cohen. He is nice thorough and listens to you. I would highly recommend him.

Lenny was very thorough and was also very knowledgeable about the issues I have. He answered questions I never thought about. I enjoyed the visit and looking forward to seeing him again with the results of my tests.

When I first went to Dr. Cohen for my trigeminal neuralgia I was at a point where I felt there was nothing left to do. My previous doctors made me feel as if they were at a loss on how to help. Dr. Cohen tried different options and I am at a point where I am on the least medication I have been in years and 2023 has been my best year in the past 14 years. I would 100 recommend him to anyone.UPDATE 121623Its pretty bad when a doctor changes your life in such a positive way but his staff is so horrible that you decide to stop seeing him. I saw Dr. Cohen on 102423 and had a follow up question. I texted 1106 1115 called 1121 with automated text response called 1128 and spoke to male who said there was no record of me texting or calling even though I have the texts and he would call me back and then called on 1206. Not ONE return call. Today when I asked the woman if Dr Cohen could call me back she laughed and said Dr. Cohen wont be calling you. That was enough for me. If I cant even get a response on a follow up question in a month speak to the doctor or get treated like it matters that Im a patient-theres no reason to continue going. I feel horrible for the patients who need his help and have to deal with his staff. I made an appointment but I shouldnt have to for a follow up question. I wont be keeping it.

Dr. Cohen is great and always shows concern and best treatment for my very rare condition. I drive almost 2 hours just to see him. Highly recommend.

My experience with Dr. Lenny Cohen was not a positive one. I went to him with a complaint of a numb tingling left arm which remains the same to date. He ran multiple tests on me. The last imaging he took he didnt even have in his office prior to my review of them and was scrambling all over his computer to find them in front of me spouse. After a period of not finding the images verbally confirming the same he then tells me Im fine theres nothing on the results that shows any concerns -- yet he didnt have the imaging to fully confirm this. He then proceeds to let me know that the symptoms of my left arm that Ive been saying at every single visit then some through a number of ER visits other specialists involved plus have dealt with these symptoms for over 6 months now they have gotten to the point of not being able to lift arms over head wash hair cut food drive with arms extended upwards lift much without dropping things in my hands walk with my hands hanging at sides they have to be in pockets and many other things that all these symptoms and experiences Im having sharing with him other medical professionals are all in my head. Then he attempts to back this false statement up with saying its uncontrolled thoughts in my head. Now Ill tell you I have NEVER had a doctor or anyone else for that matter say something was in my head as if my symptoms are meaningless not being experienced. Yet other specialists Ive seen throughout this medical journey of mine whom Ive also shared the same with advised I see another neurologist because Dr. Cohen does not have my best interest considering he is not going off of imaging results prior to diagnosis he is not and did not take any of my chief complaints about my left arm seriously ultimately forcing me to start over seek another neurologist which I also told him Id need to do because I still have an issue with my left arm despite him telling me its all in my head theres no issues or concerns. At the time I advised him Id need to seek another neurologist he basically said the imagings taken indicates theres no issues with your arm. I will update this feedback when another neurologist doctor actually takes me seriously discovers the real issues with my left arm. Overall based on my experiences with Dr. Cohen I do not recommend if you want to be taken seriously get answers solutions to your medical complaints regardless the other rave reviews. I too thought the other rave reviews were excellent which led me to Dr. Cohen but unfortunately I can confirm those reviews were false perhaps made up based on my experiences with him as nothing of what was shared in those reviews like good bed side manner was accurate. I mean he doesnt even listen to or take you seriously forcing patients like me to other neurologists for actual help.Based off of your response... It supports my stance that further testing should be offered andor a referral to a physician that can assist and resolve my issues since you are incapable of doing so. Explaining its in my head is not of any help when you simply did not and will not listen to my complaints nor assist in helping get a resolution which would be a better bedside manner for a Dr. who cares about their patients instead of just tossing your hands up. It is for this exact reason I feel other patients potential patients should know prior to getting an appointment. At least this feedback provides more than an I dont know or not my problem. As for the numbness thats the reason I went to you to begin with.... Numbing nerves is a field of yours which you also agreed to at the initial visit. Again and Ill keep saying it not recommended at all for anyone that truly cares about their health solutions.

Dr. Cohen was great. It was our first visit and he didnt rush through o. We left feeling confident in him and his recommendations.

Dr Cohen and his staff are very friendly and helpful Dr Cohen is very through in his work and does a great job at explaining his thoughts and what he is doing to you so you can understand.

I went to Dr. Cohen in a lot of pain and I appreciated the time he took both listening to me and explaining things to me. Though it is too soon to evaluate outcomes as next steps involve a lot of testing it gives me hope to have a plan of action.

Dr. Cohen takes and active interest in my well being and has continuously been available to address my questions and concerns. His office staff is courteous and I am always seen immediately after arriving at his Oak Park office. I wish all my doctors visits went as smoothly as they do at Dr. Cohens office.

Dr. Cohen office is very sharp because they dont have you waiting all day. They greet you. Always have a smile on their faces. Dr Cohen explain everything to you to make sure you understand the situation. He listens to what you have to say if you have questions he will answer them. I recommend him to anyone who needs a neurologist. You and your staff keep up the good work.Thank YouFreda
