I was a client here for many years. In fact they told me I was the second longest client my therapist had about 6 years. I moved away a couple months ago and had to discharge myself due to transportation. In those years I was there I had more issues with the staff than I had help. There is zero communication between the teams. Brittany was the best thing about that place. Before her they had Dr. Radfar who prescribed me copious amounts of high dose antipsychotics to the point I now have permanent brain damage. The rest of the team acts like they care but youre just another number to them. Years with the same therapist and upon discharge I received a fabricated letter confirming. Not even a sticky note saying it was nice working with me over the years nothing. Same thing happened with my mpr who I felt close to over the years. I understand Im no longer a client but that really makes you feel insignificant and worthless that I didnt even get a small note acknowledging how long we worked together. To top things off they are supposed to give you three months of your psych meds when you transfer out so you are covered until you get your new psychiatrist. I talked to someone that wasnt even a medical professional and told her I confirmed with the doctor this was the procedure and she replied with you get a month. Im on some very strong antipsychotics that you cant just cold turkey off of. My first appointment with my new doctor isnt for another week and I discharged back in the end of Januarybeginning of February. So they willingly left me without an adequate amount of meds regardless of proper procedure. This is my personal experience and the list goes on and on.I referred a friend to their Washington office when it opened. The doctor they had hired there lost his license for malpractice. It gets better. He told my unstable friend that her hallucinations were a gift from God and tried prescribing her overdoses of vitamins and a Parkinson medication. He was using prescription pads from his old office to fill his orders I reported him and they were skeptical and kept him on during investigation. His old office contacted them because they got a call from the pharmacy since he was using his old rx pad. They explained his situation and when Chartiers looked into him they realized not only were the accusations from my friend and other patients true he wasnt documenting anything from his appointments. Ive worked in the Healthcare field and my partner is a psychotherapist and both agree this is beyond malpractice. Can you imagine being mentally unstable and going through this all while they doubt you and gaslight you only to realize your worst nightmares came true Who knows how many other people went through this. These are the doctors and staff they hire. I would never EVER recommend someone go there ever again. If you want to be overdosed invalidated made to feel insignificant and just another number be my guest. But I beg you dont go there and if you are already a patient get out before they permanently mess you up like they did my friend and myself. For the record Im not an angry patient who left out of spite. I was there a very long time regardless of the conditions because mental health help is hard to get. I even left on good terms. I waited to write this review to see how things would go after my transfer out so I could give a full and fair assessment of chartiers as a whole. The only good person in that entire place is Brittany. She fixed my meds within a month or two and she was always amazing. Unfortunately the damage from the old doctor was already set in but Brittany made the rest of my life much easier to live with. After taking time to read several other reviews it feels sad to see everyone else had the same issues I experienced over the years but nice to be validated. Receptionist is a joke for sure. I thank them for reminding me about her. Shes extremely belittling and has a horrible God complex. I wish I could add more but I hit my character limit.

Avoid this place like the plauge. If you have loved ones here or are thinking about working here pull them out with better more capable staff and care lined up first and look elsewhere for employment. I was looking at working here but after talking to clients and both former and current staff i was extremely turned off. Care provided is inadequate. Not sure how they havent been shut down by state and federal audits. Medication management is awful clients dont receive there medications as a result of mismanagementneglect by the management team and administration. Clients human rights are taken away by protocol and policies. Clients do not have the autonomy needed for their growth.Staff are over worked and taken advantage off. False promises lies bait and switch tactics and manipulation are managementadministrations go to methodology. Do not i repeat do not work here or send your loved ones here for treatment. This place seems absolutely disgusting and should be shut down. Management and administration should be held accountable and prosecuted for violations of human rights neglect and maltreatment.

Former Director. After reading recent reviews the Agency has not changed at all...may be even worse. Senior managers and CEO are very distrustful and often pit staff against staff. It is not a good working environment. They ruin good staff. I would not recommend them at all. Leaving was the best decision I ever made.

Dont go here. It should be closed. Crazy receptionist. Nurse with behavior problems. Doctor lets patients make med choices. To their demise. Says u can 302 them. No adequate care for the mentally ill. This place is A disgrace. Gave manager a complaint. No return call. Who is making money on ur loved ones Want to add to review. They r dishonest how things go down to cover themselves. Lies. U cant reach the doctor. Dont change meds when having bad reactions. Put patients with very serious diagnosis in jeopardy of losing their ability to care for themselves. And much more. Need to be reported to proper agencies and should contact your attorney. Why is the government keeping this place open Says the authorities will find ur loved one if they wonder around streets. Very clear they r money makers with no concern for patients. 15 min appointments Hard for a Christian to encounter such blatant corruption and harm done to innocents for money. Right under our noses.

I worked at Chartiers Center. It was awesome experience. Good people who helped a lot of people in need of a hand up. I wish I was still there. I had a client who we rescued from homelessness tell mewith a tear in his eye I can now keep a carton of milk for more than one day. This statement only hints at the power of putting some one who had gotten used to sleeping on the ground into their own home All the haters eed to quit

Some members of the staff are very shady. I dont think anyone checks up on them so they get away with things that arent legit. Cant believe they are still in business its so shady Stay away not worthyour time

I have always received excellent care at Charters. Like everything what you put in is what you get back. I am being challenged and well cared for. I have had no problems with staff. They have all made me feel welcomed and loved.

After struggling for 10 years with my mental health on my own I sought out this place because they were taking new patients and seemed to want to help. Theyve gone above and beyond that. I finally have a support group of people who listen to me. By listening they were able to properly diagnose and medicate me properly. Therapy isnt a huge help for me as most of my issues are biological and to finally have someone listen and believe me is an unexplainable feeling. Because of being on the right medicine and getting the correct therapy I finally am living a normal healthy thriving life. I cant thank this place enough for helping to recourse my life.

I consulted this center for counseling it was not court-ordered. I have been in counseling before and I know what to expect. Due to covid the sessions were over the phone. I never felt that therapeutic connection necessary but thought since our sessions were over the phone that could be why and continued sessions hoping it would improve. The therapist seemed uncomfortable with silence and she filled the silence with stories about other clients as well as many personal stories about her own life. I know much more about her life than a client should. She was a terrible listener. In todays session for example I began by telling her - in great detail - my weekend plans. About halfway through the session she asked me So do you have any plans this weekend Wow really I just told you my weekend plans. Additionally her biases are quite evident and she needs to learn how to remain neutral to avoid offending people who are different than she.The final straw came when Chartiers Center mistakenly scheduled me for an appointment a week before my actual scheduled appointment I had a medical procedure scheduled that day which I scheduled six weeks prior I did not also schedule counseling that day. I called the number and left a message but I quickly realized their error when I saw in my calendar the appointment scheduled for this week not last. There was no call back regarding the previous weeks missed appointment or to reschedule so the appointment that was scheduled commenced on the day and time for which it was scheduled. After asking if I was familiar with their cancellation policy I was not the therapist lectured and admonished me for well over seven minutes I was watching my car clock as I drove telling me because I have cancelled three times I will be put in mediation which I guess is punishment for people who habitually cancel appointments. When I protested that this was their error she interrupted and loudly spoke over me even asked if I was ever going to let her finish and I repeated myself three times explaining their error. She went on a tirade for almost ten minutes repeating herself and talking in circles about their cancellation policy. I get it their policy is to punish you for cancelling appointments. I did not cancel. This was their error. If you have good insurance and a choice like I do I recommend you go elsewhere as I intend to do. I have never encountered a more unprofessional counselor or operation. I will be filing a complaint with the ACA.

Chartiers Center is one of the best places I have ever worked. We do care about our participants and we do the best work possible. It starts at the top. Our CEO is a wonderful person who makes us all feel cared about and heard. Its a trickle down effect that keeps so many people happy in our jobs. My supervisor and her supervisor are very caring and accommodating . I highly recommend our services. We take mental health very seriously and we are dedicated to the participants.
