Center for Excellence in Disabilities - Big Chimney

The Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) has supported people of all ages with developmental and other disabilities and their families in the movement from institutional to community settings; in the development of inclusive educational opportunities; in the preparation of professionals to meet the needs of those with the most severe disabilities and behavioral challenges; and in utilizing interdisciplinary; state-of-the-art services to support the health and related needs of people with developmental and other disabilities. Through its interagency focus; the Center has been able to strengthen existing systems that serve people with disabilities throughout West Virginia while building the capacity.;Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals of all ages with developmental and other disabilities; so they and their families can experience independence and inclusion in society through informed choices and self-determination.
