Sue Abrams has helped provide our daughter with the skills strategies self-awareness and self-esteem to enter into new groups of kids build friendships and nurture them. She truly supports the whole child as well as the whole family. We are supremely grateful for the huge developmental strides we have witnessed over the past couple years.

Our experience with CCL was not good. We used to go to their social groups. My son was just kicked out of the group without an explanation. Sue Abrams never bothered to call to let me now what happened. CCL could care less about what happens to my son who is on the spectrum.

The great improvement our son has achieved for developing his speech has been due to all the commitment and strategies Sue Abrams has provided during each speech therapy session for the last decade. Since the beginning Sue encouraged us to set up goals and implement every speech lesson to his daily routine.

My daughter has been going to The Center for Communication and Learning for 6 months. Her speech has improved. Her expressive and receptive language has increased tremendously and she is more confident in her social interactions as a result. Academically her reading comprehension has improved as well. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the environment is warm and inviting. Im very thankful for CCL

The B-Social therapeutic Summer Program is an amazing social learning opportunity for kids. It is the product of a long-standing and harmonious relationship between Fitness for Health and Center for Communication and Learning. The programs SLP and fitness instructor are masters in their respective fields. Social thinking concepts are creatively taught reinforced and interwoven throughout the days activities. Parents receive daily feedback regarding the days social thinking concept and fitness activities so they can take social learning into the home. This program is packed with fun fitness daily crafts and lots of social learning. My 6-year-old son had so much fun at this camp. He participated in all 3 weeks and at the end of those weeks he was much more fit confident coordinated and social just in time for the beginning of the school year

This is speech therapy that not only supports my 6 year old son with social communication challenges but supports our whole family They provide clear and detailed follow up on each therapy session so we can continue working on the same strategies at home. Furthermore they have a wonderful Parent University that addresses additional important topics for parents ranging from self-care to movement-based strategies to help kids with developmental delays at home. Were so thankful we found such an outstanding resource in the DC Metro area

Our son with autism currently 5yo has been seeing Sue for 2 years now and weve seen great improvement. She is really great at identifying areas that need work developing strategies to address them and then helping us integrate them into our daily life. She clearly has a great deal of experience and knowledge when it comes to treating autism-related language and social challenges. One of the very best
