Introduction
My name is Catherine Johns, and I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist based in Stephenville, Texas. I am also licensed to provide services in Texas, Virginia and California. I work with clients across the lifespan, from toddlers to older adults, and I genuinely enjoy helping individuals of all ages achieve their communication goals. My clinical experience includes working extensively with both pediatric and adult populations.
My treatment approach is individualized and evidence-based, incorporating multiple modalities and strategies to provide the most effective therapy for each client's unique needs. I have experience treating speech sound disorders, language disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, and fluency disorders.
While my primary areas of expertise are communication and cognitive disorders, I also have experience working with adults with swallowing disorders. I have more limited experience with pediatric feeding disorders, cleft palate, tracheostomy-related needs, and voice disorders.
I am passionate about empowering clients and their families while creating engaging, enjoyable therapy experiences. One of my special interests is supporting individuals on the autism spectrum as they develop communication, social interaction, and self-advocacy skills. As I have an adult child diagnosed on the spectrum I have experience as both a mother and a clinician. Clients and colleagues often describe me as compassionate, creative, determined, and someone who thinks outside the box to help individuals succeed.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my horses and dogs, as well as making memories with my adult children whenever they're nearby.
