I have taken my children to this clinic since birth and have always noticed the lack of urgency when incidents were to happen but things eventually were always for taken care of but there was never a sense of urgency when it was an emergency.last weekend my son has an accident at football practice and had signs of a fractured elbow I was referred to the orthopedic doctor and was told to wait 4-5 days for them to contact me 4-5 days is way to long of a wait if a child has a fractured bone then I was ordered to take him to the ARA for an immediate X-ray I took him for the X-ray but was not contacted with results. still currently waiting for results my child isnt allowed to attend school without instructions from the MD . Multiple message sent to the provider on the MyChart app and not one response. The lack of urgency and compassion for their child patients is beyond me definitely changing providers

We been here since 11 am smh it is now 308 and no one has came to even check on us not even to check my 3 year old temperature and thats the first thing that should have been done. He has a runny nose he is coughing and he has a fever and you can here him in the room having a hard time of breathing because he do have asthma. They are in need of new safe really bad and I dont like there customer service. Right before I got here the lady told me it was OK for me to bring my son in before her lunch at 1pm and I made it here at 11am as soon as I got here the lady told me that they where overcapacity with walkins. So I had to make a appointment for 2pm so I waited around and I have yet to see anyone. Very bad Business

First time visit with my son so I arrived 15 minutes early. Got vitals and sent back to the room an hour in the room waiting for a nurse with no one to check on us I had to walk to the front desk and ask for help in the room and I asked why is it taking so long. The front desk of course said they were short staffed well if there is that many patients something or someone needs to manage this place better. After an hour waiting a nurse rushes in only to look at my son for barely 10 minutes for his school physical. I repeatedly had to ask for an asthma action plan and for refills of an asthma pump for school. Lol well a second visit I had asked why do I not have my son refill of asthma pump and the MAs said they will leave a note for the nurse. Well for third try I had to call and ask again and was told they are leaving a message for the staff to check in that. Its been four weeks and I have called and visited three different times. I had to change location because it is just so unprofessional there.

Horrible I waited 3hrs to be seen. Walkins never get called. There were very sick patients here who needed immediate attention and nobody attended to them. If I had a zero star option I would put it. The front counter had no idea what she was doing. Didnt even know the policy with walkin patients. They never asked what was wrong with the kids. The emergency room wouldve been a better option.

Frequently Asked Questions
Speech therapy is almost always recommended for autistic children since many people with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if a child is very verbal and says a lot of words, they might need to work on communication skills like:
responding to questions
starting or ending conversation
changing conversation topics
using gestures like pointing
understanding other people's body language
Speech therapy is a big focus in early intervention for autistic children and is usually the starting place for recently diagnosed kids. There is a critical period in the brain for language development and so, it's really important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible, especially if there are any delays in that area. Your child will learn effective ways to communicate which will help them grow into more independent and confident individuals.
It might be obvious when a child struggles with speaking —they are very quiet, say only a few words, or don't speak at all.
Spot speech and language delays like a doctor here.
The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
Forming speech in a clearer way
Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
Understanding and responding to questions
Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions
Noticing and understanding body language
Feeding and swallowing
Stuttering
Use visual aids. You can use picture schedules, videos, social stories, and other visual aids to show your child what to expect.
Take your child for a practice visit. This can be the same as the orientation visit, or it can be a “dry run” of an appointment where the dentist doesn’t actually work on your child’s teeth yet.
Bring items to fulfill sensory needs. Bringing your child’s favorite fidgets and toys so they can play during the appointment will be helpful.
Reduce unnecessary stress before and after. Reduce demands by wearing comfortable clothes, getting lots of rest, eliminating unnecessary activities (like grocery shopping — order for pick up!), and doing the things that relax your child. Your child will be able to regulate better when every day stressors are kept at a minimum.
Your pediatrician might be able to administer screenings, but most general doctors are not trained to formally diagnose autism. They might refer you to a qualified diagnostic clinician which include:
Developmental Pediatricians
Child Psychologists
Child Psychiatrists
Pediatric Neurologists
Pediatric Neuropsychologists
Your experience might look different depending on the type of clinician you choose. Many families prefer working with developmental pediatricians. Others might work with a psychiatrist or another specialist to get a different perspective.
A formal ASD diagnosis, or a medical diagnosis, helps you get the support your family needs, especially within the context of accessing medically necessary therapies and services.
Insurance Coverage for Therapies: Medically necessary therapies for ASD are often covered by insurance including, but not limited to, speech therapy, ABA therapy, and occupational therapy.
Financial Support: A diagnosis is required when applying for social security or disability benefits.
Plan for Care: A diagnosis helps identify your child’s support needs. For example, your child might need to develop social communication and self-regulation skills.
Future Research: The more data we gather through evaluations, the more we can improve services for autistic children and adults.
The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
