About Capital Area Speech & Occupational Therapy

Capital Area Speech Therapy, PLLC began in 1988 out of co-founder Jamie Putnam’s desire to offer intensive and specialized speech therapy services while working in close collaboration with families; services that were not available in other environments . The practice started as Capital Area Speech Language and Educational Services. It was a part-time endeavor with one treatment room, one table, one shelf, and a shared office space. Last but not the least, some very special clients who entrusted their care to us even in our humble beginnings! In 2003 Capital Area added occupational therapy services in order provide more comprehensive services to our patients.

Very nice and helpful speech language pathologists here. Our daughter always looked forward to the sessions which were 30-minutes twice a week.In just a few months she achieved more than our initial goals which included stop switching certain sounds such as s and th. Michaela was great

I am so grateful for CASOT My son was attending another STOT clinic and I just wasnt happy with our providers. Against my better judgement I stuck it out probably longer than I should have because of the long wait list for Pediatric SLP in the area. The environment was always chaotic unwelcoming and my son just didnt like going to therapy. At CASOT it is the total opposite. What I really appreciate about the clinic is the set up and how organized sessions are. I really appreciate that the toys are placed in bins versus a child walking into a room full of stuff which I think can be overwhelming and distracting. He has made great progress since working with SLP Mrs. Jordan. My sons vocabulary was very limited when we started out at the clinic and now he is saying twothree word phrases. Mrs. Jordan is knowledgeable always greets you with a warm smile is kind hearted and just an overall joy to work with as a parent. It is obvious that she takes great pride in her profession. For me one of the greatest joys is seeing the big smile on my sons face before and after his therapy session with Mrs. Jordan or any other SLP he has worked with as a substitute.Thank you Mrs. Jordan and team for all that you have done and will continue to do for Maxwell We are all so happy to have found you

We are so grateful to have found Capital Area Speech and Occupational Therapy. Julia has been so wonderful for our son and the progress he has made in a year is simply amazing. Whenever I think back to where he was during his first evaluation to where he is today it brings tears to my eyes. We cannot thank Julia enough for her incredible patience and the connection she has established with our son. We completely trust her and our son genuinely loves her and looks forward to his sessions and without that I dont know that he would be as successful as he has been. We also recently started occupational therapy and our son absolutely loves working with Ann. I would 100 recommend CASOT to others.

1. Stacey Rosensteel was great. I am a senior adult with vocal cord issues. Checked in with me before sessions to be best prepared for our time. I paid privately because her expertise was evident when we talked before the evaluation. I continued therapy for a couple of months and she gave me lots of exercises that I could do at home. I would recommend her for anyone- child to adult2. Getting to this review site took perseverance - about 6 steps to make the Google version plus verification work. But I really wanted to leave the positive review

We have been going for a little over 6 months now and have seen wonderful progress with our son Stacey has been incredibly patient and kind and isnt afraid to scoop him up when hes having a wild tantrum on the floor. She covers everything they worked on in class and even gives key phrases to focus on each week. Our son loves going and seeing Mrs Stacey and we love her too We are very grateful for the progress we have seen and extended family has noticed too. Been such a blessing

My son went to Megan Moore for speech therapy and she was wonderful. He loved her and she really cared for him. He learned well and was always excited to meet with her. Its bittersweet that he graduated and wont see her anymore I would recommend Megan to anyone for speech therapy.

My daughter had the privilege of working with Stacey Rosensteel. I cant say enough wonderful things about Stacey and the work she does. She immediately made my daughter feel comfortable and beyond that confident.Stacey worked with my daughters school IEP plan to improve success and maximize their time by focusing on the appropriate areas.Im sad to say my daughter recently graduated from Stacey. Staceys exceptional skill sets warm demeanor and attentiveness to the whole child ensured my daughter is now thriving. I truly cant say enough wonderful things about her. We will truly miss working with Stacey.

My son has received speech and occupational therapy services here for over a year. His team of 4 therapists are amazing treat him with respect advocate for him and advise us on our parenting strategies and school accommodations. While scheduling and working with insurance has been tricky since they switched systems its still worth it for the high quality of care he receives.

We had an excellent experience with Capital Area Speech. It was easy to get an appointment for evaluation. Our therapist Michele Reeder has been so wonderful with our son. He was initially very shy but Michele got him to engage with her and he made incredible progress in a short amount of time. Michele also gave us great resources to use to practice at home. Michele is very experienced really cares about her patients and wants to see her patients succeed. Highly recommend Capital Area Speech and very grateful to have worked with Michele

We have started going here in August 2021 and so far our speech therapy journey has been enjoyable and well I am glad that we were assigned to Lindsey because she is just great with kids and I appreciate that she gives me tips on how we can follow through at home. More than 5 months in and we have seen major improvements already. My 5yo loves her too I know they are a very busy clinic but we are thankful to have been able to secure a spot.
