Worst service ever. Got approved for services. Received letter in the mail in may. Called to schedule an appointment. Was forwarded to different voicemail left messages and never got a call back. Its now august and still nobody feels obligated to call me back. Horrible experience.

The idea behind this place is a God send however just like every other government agency the execution lacks. Counselors are hit and miss to say the least and the waiting which I understand due to volume needing help is massive.I was looking for guidance to find a Career and this place specializes more in low level Fast Food type jobs which unfortunately cant support someone paying rent food utilities and such.As I said great concept unfortunately the execution lacks.

They take care of business. They are honest. They do not meet the stereotypes of a government agency. Employees have brains and hearts.

I found that in spite of certain people who arrived for the orientation and chose not to really apply themselves seriously it was very informative straight forward and if one is willing to dedicate themselves to their end goal this team will back up ones endeavors 100 percent to make it happen. Through education time and resources offered anything is possible. It takes GANNAS in English it means Will Force. Im excited to begin a new life. Age discrimination does not exist here as well as handicapped issues.

I am a current client of this facility and after I qualified they spent quite a pretty penny on training clothing travel and many other servixes such as a job specialist who helps me find work. I almost got hired by a company from this process relatively early on but unfortunately that company couldnt allow me to take my medicine.

I have nothing but good things to say about the DETR Services To The Blind And Visually Impaired and all of the people that work together so diligently too help me over come the challenges of losing my vision. Words cannot express my gratitude to every person I have had the opportunity to work with Cynthia Richelle Sally Suzanne Vickie Sally D. Anna Gabby Chris Larry Jerry and Dominic... Each and everyone of you change peoples lives for the better every single day. Working in public service can be a thankless job and in my opinion you are all unsung heroes for your dedication to the low vision and blind community of southern Nevada. Thank you again for all you do and I tip my hat to you.
