About Building Lasting Success Together (BLAST Programs)

BLAST was founded in 1997 by Dr. Peter Gero with the goal of providing a safe and supportive environment in which individuals can learn to be successful in social situations. Today BLAST provides positive experiences to individuals who have struggled to be successful at home, at school, or in other environments. Individuals participate in a variety of structured activities in a therapeutic setting, playing in small groups, large groups and partners. During guided play experiences, BLAST participants learn how to articulate their feelings, make and keep friends, handle frustration, follow directions and control impulses.

Katie Enney, Psy.D.

Founding Story

LAST is owned and operated by Katie Enney, Psy.D. (PSY28571), psychologist licensed to practice psychotherapy by the Board of Psychology of the State of California. As a licensed psychologist, she is required to take continuing education courses to maintain license to practice psychotherapy. As a licensed Psychologist, she is also subject to the Laws and Regulations relating to the practice of Psychology as mandated by the State of California, which include the Ethical Principals of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of the American Psychologists Association. Dr. Enney provides supervision to BLAST staff on an ongoing basis. BLAST staff members have a variety of backgrounds including therapists accruing hours towards licensure, college aged students in the field of psychology, teachers, and child educators.
