Introduction
Hello! My name is Brittney Williams. I’m a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and the co-founder of Nature Speakz Bay Area. I offer individual relationship-based and child-led speech therapy, as well as outdoor social skills groups, and co-treat sessions with my occupational therapy colleague. I serve children with limited expressive and receptive language (including non-speakers), AAC users, social communication/pragmatic difficulties, and children with behavioral or regulation challenges. A key part to my approach is providing therapy in natural environments, such as in-home, the community (parks, community outings), and daily routines so that communication skills are meaningful, functional, and applicable to real life situations. I am deeply committed to honoring each child's individuality and neurodivergence, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space where communication can emerge naturally and authentically. Others describe me as warm, playful, patient, and creative. When I’m not in therapy, I love cooking, traveling, attending festivals, and trying new foods. I’m a huge foodie!
What words would you use to describe yourself?
creative
intuitive
patient
Creative, intuitive, and patient! I choose these 3 words because I enjoy thinking outside the box and tailoring therapy to each child's unique strengths, interests, and communication style rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. My intuition helps me recognize subtle cues, meet children where they are, and adjust my approach in the moment to support engagement, regulation, and connection. Families appreciate my calm, patient presence and my ability to build trusting relationships that help children feel safe, understood, and excited to communicate.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
Clients I am best positioned to serve include neurodivergent children who benefit from a strengths based and child-led approach. I support children with limited expressive and receptive language skills, nonspeaking communicators, gestalt language processors, AAC users, and children who experience behavioral, or emotional regulation challenges that impact communication. Using a DIR/Floortime approach, I enjoy working with children who benefit from child-led, play-based, and naturalistic intervention, particularly those who thrive when therapy is flexible, relationship-focused, and built around their interests. My experience includes supporting children with autism, developmental language differences, social communication difficulties, and complex communication needs. While I do not specialize in stuttering or childhood apraxia of speech, I’m committed to connecting families with appropriate providers when those needs arise. I work best with families seeking collaborative, relationship centered therapy that prioritizes functional communication in everyday environments.
