Charistine has been my dads caregiver for over two years and she has been wonderful since the very first day. She quickly mastered his routine allowing them to work efficiently with minimal communication. Every morning she arrives happy and ready to go. She is very competent. They share many interests and nothing my dad asks for is too much for her. Charistine is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen. We love her and she is like part of our family.
My family has been working with Bright Star for over two years. They have been there for us through some of our most challenging times. Charistine joined us as truly a bright Star and has taken exemplary care of my son. I will never overlook the impact her care and dedication has made on our family. Thank you Charistine.Carolyn C
The Best Experience ever. Bright star has done everything they said they would do. My care giver Jacquelin is the Best care giver ever. On time as always and a warm smile always . Makes my recovery easier. Just love the company .
Just wanted to pass on some praise for Stephanie Hernandez. She is outstanding and very sorry our schedules conflict going forward and we will miss her very much. My wife loves her wonderful care.Just a later update 122024 to my original review we have a newer caregiver Olga Osuna that is just outstanding with warm and terrific care for my wife. She is just great. Great staffing BrightStar.
You might notice that I post quite a few reviews heres whyI rarely need to speak directly with Conejo Valley BrightStar headquarters in Westlake Village CA. Often several months will pass between us speaking together. However I often feel like my personal caregiver or an office staff member has gone above and beyond the call of duty caring for me. In such cases I like to express my gratitude by publicly recognizing the individual by posting a great review on Google or Yelp like the one below.Personalized care is not inexpensive And as a disabled Marine Corps aviator and combat veteran I require a high level of care and have a long but not difficult daily routine that I expect to be done quickly and most importantly safely. I have worked with BrightStar for my caregiving needs for over three years. Conejo Valley BrightStars owner Karen and her office staff notably Sandra Rose and Heather have worked diligently and a couple of times truly tirelessly esp. Heather to keep my life running smoothly. Which is not always easy because anytime you work with people sht happens caregivers get sick I need something extra kids get sick people take time off there are holidays and birthdays and everything else in life that happens. Under normal circumstances this is not a problem. But when your life comes to a screeching halt like mine does without skilled caregiving you need to work with a good caregiving team thats not going to leave you high and dry on an important day or any day for that matter because every days important to me. Case in pointIve been doing this a long time now so trust me when I say that wondering if your caregiver will show up and bring their A-game is psychologically taxing and quickly leads to frustration anxiety depression and anger. I have zero tolerance for mediocrity. However I have had the good fortune to have Charistine as my caregiver for over two years. Since day one she has been wonderful. She quickly mastered my routine to where now we can easily do what needs to be done with virtually no talking leaving me to think about and focus on my day ahead. Charistine is a pro Every morning she arrives happy and ready to go. Shes flexible and competent and should I need to make a change she can easily and safely get the job done. We get along well with many of the same interests and nothing I ask for is too much or stresses her out. Charistine has been a Godsend for me and my family. She is one of the hardest workers I have ever known and an excellent reflection of the professionalism I have come to expect from BrightStar Conejo Valley.

Having been an extensive user of the resources and skills provided by Brightstar nothing but compliments to the support team and the wonderfully skilled caregivers that they have. A shout out to Eileen Pirtle for her many years of devotion to my family
Having an out of town wedding is stressful. Having your 89-year old mom cared for by watchful caring staff was everything we had hoped for. Arlene R showed up on time and appropriately dressed for both the rehearsal dinner and the next day for the wedding. She quickly connected with mom and myself with the long list of requirements giving me confidence that mom would be in good hands over the next two days. This included driving mom back to the hotel staying with her and ensuring she received her meds overnight. After I first contacted BrightStar Barbara W contacted me and was clear their capabilities and costs. She arranged for a call once Arlene accepted the assignment giving me confidence in both the office coordination and in Arlenes professionalism. Thank you Arlene and thank you BrightStar team.
Our experience with BrightStar and our Caregiver Bryann has been excellent. The CaregiverCare-recipient relationship is highly personal and is usually only sought out in precarious situations making it all the more important. BrightStar matched us with exactly the right Caregiver for my Mother-in-Law and our family. We look forward to seeing her everyday
All of the caregivers from BrightStar have been uniformly good but I wanted to give a special shout out to Ivy who quite literally treats my mother as if she were her own In the moderatelate stages of Alzheimers mom can be quite difficult but Ivy remains unphased is extremely attentive and has a knack for making mom comfortable happy. Ivy has an infectious exuberance she is always smiling and brings a much welcomed warmth and levity to moms home. We always look forward to her visits she is an absolute gem
Frequently Asked Questions
Most children go to daycare before they enter preschool at age 3 or 4. Most children stop daycare at the age of 6 when they go to school. Children who are homeschooled might continue daycare programs. Kids diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities might be in both daycare and therapy programs longer. Special needs programs and centers help children up to 26 years old.
One of the best things you can do is to have a conversation with the daycare staff. Share details about your child’s autism diagnosis, strengths, and challenges. Building open lines of communication will help you work together to support your child’s needs. Prepare the daycare provider to work with your child with a physical guidebook. This guidebook can include all of your child’s favorite things and how to calm them down. You might already have one ready from your experience with babysitters or teachers!

Here are a few things you will want to discuss with a potential respite worker: (Keep in mind that the most important step is to observe how the respite worker interacts with your child and your family.)
- Do they have work experience with children with autism?
- How will the respite worker support your child in a group setting?
- Do they have concerns about taking this job?
