The nurses here are so rude. I made appointment for my daughter just to do her weekly shot they always ignore her or make me wait forever. Horrible . They should not be treating people that know friendly and other people unfriendly

My three month old has an NG tube and we needed it put back in and we called and called but nobody picked up the answering service so we could know if the GI specialist was there so we didnt have to go to Boston. Turns out we had an appointment in Peabody but they canceled it on us and never called us and we waited from eight am this morning till noon for them to do stuff and the doctor is trying to mess with her nutrition plan that was already put in place and wants her on solids when her doctor hasnt okayed that yet Im not doing anything until shes ok. Use the app to reach people ever hear of phones

From the receptions to the doctors they keep the standard at its highest at this location. I came here with my sick little boy to get medical attention. They were Thorough and professional. I been here a few times already. They been friendly and welcoming at every visit. Its a huge plus to take away from the stressors of a sick child. Its those discipline that makes a hospital great. They dont just handle patients. They handle human beings and treat them with dignity. Great job guys. Keep up the daily discipline. Working at a high standard and doing the small things goes a long way. God bless

I dont have much praise for this hospital at least for the cardiology department. I wont bore you guys with the details but suffice it to say their service was poor on multiple occasions. I should have sued them but lawyers and judges dont analyze hearts. Finally an internal review was undertaken and the woman who undertook the review never interviewed me my son or my wife. It is kind of like Boeing certifying their own 737-MAX planes.

I am so disappointed with the eye care department. I took my son in for a specific reason. Got a referral for that reason. They proceeded to set me up with an ordinary eye doctor for a routine eye exam. I was totally unaware that my needs were not being met until the appointment was over and I was wondering what the heck just happened. I was sent a bill for 933.00 for an eye exam I would have gone to my neighborhood doctor that I trust for 100. What are they thinking I have spoken with the billing department trying to resolve this. I did not make an appointment for an eye exam. They keep saying they are looking into it but then I get bills saying they are late They are not trustworthy. I am do frustrated Think twice before bringing your child here. Just because it says Childrens they feel they can rob you. The service was terrible too.

I went there with extreme stomach pain. Everyone there was very kind and helpful. Doctor was very nice and thorough. Got an x-ray and full exam. They recommended what I should do and I was better in a few days.My only advice to people coming here is be ready to wait. I was taken right in after signing in and it still took the doctor 45 minutes to get to me. I guess it wasnt a big deal in the long run but I was in terrible pain and the wait seemed that much worst.

Frequently Asked Questions
Speech therapy is almost always recommended for autistic children since many people with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if a child is very verbal and says a lot of words, they might need to work on communication skills like:
responding to questions
starting or ending conversation
changing conversation topics
using gestures like pointing
understanding other people's body language
Speech therapy is a big focus in early intervention for autistic children and is usually the starting place for recently diagnosed kids. There is a critical period in the brain for language development and so, it's really important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible, especially if there are any delays in that area. Your child will learn effective ways to communicate which will help them grow into more independent and confident individuals.
It might be obvious when a child struggles with speaking —they are very quiet, say only a few words, or don't speak at all.
Spot speech and language delays like a doctor here.
The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
Forming speech in a clearer way
Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
Understanding and responding to questions
Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions
Noticing and understanding body language
Feeding and swallowing
Stuttering
When you visit a neurologist, they’ll assess your child’s needs, run some tests (think imaging or EEG), and diagnose. From there, they’ll create a customized treatment plan. Medication, lifestyle tweaks, or maybe even a referral to another specialist could be on the table.
There unfortunately isn’t one test for all neurodevelopmental conditions. Most likely you will go into a visit to test one or two medical conditions. If you are looking for a comprehensive autism evaluation, developmental pediatricians, psychologists, or neuropsychologists are the preferred specialists who can diagnose autism.
No, neurologists focus mainly on non-surgical interventions. If your child needs surgery, neurologists might point you in the direction of a pediatric neurosurgeon.
Get involved with local organizations, support groups, and professionals specializing in those hard of hearing. They can offer guidance, resources, and opportunities for your kiddo’s development. The more you know, the better you can support your child.
Here are some suggestions to get you started:
Hands & Voices is a parent-driven, nonprofit organization that provides unbiased support, regarding communication methodology and technology, to families with deaf or hard of hearing children.
Gallaudet University — Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center is a federally funded institution offering exemplary academic programs to deaf/HoH students. They provide early intervention services, sign language classes, and uniquely designed resources for deaf/HoH communities.
Hearing Loss Association of America is a nonprofit organization with a mission to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support, and advocacy.
A Pediatric Gastroenterologist manages digestive health in children. This field covers the entire gastrointestinal (GI) tract including the hepatobiliary-pancreatic systems (think absorbing nutrients from our food, eliminating waste, etc.) and nutritional disorders (think obesity, malnutrition, etc.).
