When we started services with Ms. Megan our daughter had just started kindergarten and we wanted to ensure success not only educationally but also socially. Ms. Megan was incredible from start to finish she was transparent in the services she could offer and was honest about the work that needed to be completed. We found Blacksmith Speech Therapy through a Google search and chose to call her because she was one of the only speech therapists that came into the home. This was important to us as we wanted our daughter to feel comfortable but it was helpful in not having to commute to an office. When our daughter first met Ms. Megan she immediately felt comfortable and could sense the warmth from her new teacher.During services Ms. Megan made speech therapy fun with games and her sense of humor. She incorporated things that my daughter liked and gave her the freedom to be a kid. Ms. Megan would provide us with assignments that we could do during the week to ensure success using the new tools she prepared. Our daughter thrived quicker than we thought due to visits with Ms. Megan our work at home and the hard work that our daughter put in.If youre looking for speech therapy for your child we highly recommend her services. Ms. Smith changed our familys life by giving our daughter the ability to communicate Our daughter had age-appropriate communication for her age according to her pediatrician but not verbally until Ms. Smith began speech therapy with her. We had some virtual appointments but mostly in-house and her organic style made every activity in our home even the mundane a learning experience. We found Megan simply by looking online in desperation for speech therapists that may be able to work with our 2 year old son who only had about a dozen words in his vocabulary. We found her website welcoming and found her very responsive when we reached out. After just a free consultation we felt like we already had so many more tools to work with than months of research speech therapy podcasts and tips had given us up to that point.After only a couple of visits we were having totally new experiences and associations practicing speech in our home. Our son was thrilled every time Megan came over. It honestly may have been his favorite part of the week. As a result everytime we got out materials or tools associated with speech practice he would get excited and happy. The best part is that even when we werent meeting with Megan we had all the tools and empowerment to continue these practices to growth and development in our home routines.Though this is our only experience so far working with a speech therapist I cannot help but think we got pretty lucky finding Megan in particular. She was playful with our son and encouraging and practical with us as parents all while being organized and professional keeping appointments payment and details sorted each week. Cannot recommend her enough for anyone needing support with their childs speech and language.
