I am going to a nursing home Well it turned out to be a positive experience from a hip transplant and an ankle broken in 3 places. The rehab services were great. Physical Therapy got me up and moving which was no easy task. I have witnessed patients in other nursing homes ring their call button and wait 20 minutes for an aide to come and help them. Whenever I buzzed for help an aide was at my bedside in less than 3 minutes. The staff nurses aides therapists and management were very caring and responsive to my needs. If I had to go to rehab again I would NOT hesitate to go to Birch. Did I mention the food....it needs some help. I am now walking all over the place climbing ladders and driving and it all began here. Many thanks for everything

The care weve received for our elderly and disabled mother has been great. Despite her many personal difficulties she has been kept clean warm well-fed medicated and comfortable.

My brother-in-law was a resident at this facility. The staff were caring and attentive to his needs. My husband and I were glad to know he did not need to move when he was taken on by hospice. The end-of-life care was supportive to my brother-in-law our family and his friends.

I wouldnt even give this place 1 star but you have to give something...the facility had its state review and they had lots of deficiencies. The staff were celebrating that they didnt get shut down... they are holding my mother in law against our will..

My sister was placed in Birch rehab after a stay in the Portsmouth Hospital. I discharged her from this place in less than 24 hours. This place lacks knowledgeable staff. There was no meet and greet with me when I went to visit my sister and found her sitting in a shared room not knowing what was really going on. My sister is hard of hearing her left ear being her better ear she will say yes to everything even though she didnt understand a word you said.The morning I made my decision to get my sister out of there I found she had slept in her day clothes had wet herself and to top it off she had Covid. I had called before I went there a total of 40 minutes on the phone trying to speak with my sister her phone was broke. I asked for the person in charge and was told she was to busy and would call me back needless to say she neverdid.To this day no one in management has taken the time to call me back to find out what happenedI would never recommend this place to a living soul

Colonial Hill is a wonderful place The staff is warm and caring its very clean and the atmosphere is happy and fun. I recommend Colonial Hill for anyone needing short term rehab or for people looking for a loving place to live.

I just found out today January 15 2019 that my brother Edmond W. Raiche died on November 2 2018. My brother Ron called to tell me that no other sibling knew about it. The Administrator told me when I called that family was there and said they would take care of everything when in fact none of us Siblings knew at all the 2 people that were supposedly taking care of everything was his girlfriend and her companion. No relation whatsoever. I would assume that Administration didnt ask if they were related in fact there were no blood relitives involved. Sound suspicious I think so I will contact Medicare and law officials to assure all precautions were taken to assure that they infact were relitives. We have a large family and no one at all knew this had happened. Wow

I have spent two times here for rehab. Each time I was here I was treated with respect and kindness. They gave me the exercises I needed for rehabilitation and the diet to watch my type 2 diabetes. When they sent me home they always made sure I understood my home program. I would recommend this place to anyone

I felt awful leaving my mother here when it was time for me to go home. Staff shortage isnt an excuse for rough handling of patients in pain or rude responses. At times she was made to wait up to an hour for a bed pan and a half hour for someone to take her off. She always seemed to be doped up more than necessary. Important information was shared with her but not with family which was bad because of her state of mind. There were a few good staff but the negative outweighed the positive by far. Staff was even rude in front of me and other family members My mom would ask me not to complain because she was worried about being treated worse by those she would complain about. Unfortunately this was the only rehab that could take my mother and what her insurance would approve of. Avoid this place by all means. I hate to leave negative reviews but other people considering Colonial Hill need to be warned.

The staff are a bunch of morons letting a non blood relative make the decision of who can contact our family member. It is also seems this facility dont know who the supervisor on duty is or that there isnt one. I have never witnessed a facility like this run so poorly if anyone from the New Hampshire health department is reading this I urge you to look into this place it is a disaster and doesnt need to be in operation. If anyone has a family member in this facility I recommend you remove them and find a new place.
