This was my second time giving birth at this hospital. The first during COVID was coerced into unnecessary interventions that made recovery very difficult. The second time as a homebirth transfer I was harassed by Dr. Phucket Tantivit the Director of neonatology about not complying with unnecessary protocols for my healthy child. My childs medical record had errors and this doctor did not bother to complete an exam on him but took the time to threaten us and use scare tactics. He is egotistical and did not care to find alternatives that worked for our family.I have very little trust in the Baptist Healthcare system to do what is best for me or my child as individuals. They do not respect your right as a parent and have no regard for informed consent. They do not respect your decisions or beliefs and there is no individualized care or collaboration you are just a walking checklist they tick off. They push procedures to avoid liability and maximize profits instead of doing what is best for your as a patient.Avoid this place if you can help it.The best part of both experiences has been the food and nurse Sara at LD.PS I have contacted patient experience since the incident a month an a half ago and have not been contacted back or offered any resolution. That department is full of hot hair.

I will start with the good aspects. Some of the Nurses and Doctors were great Dr. Ramsey. They actually listened to why we were there what we wanted to do and had discussions regarding the birth of our Baby. They understood our expectations and birth plan.In the next room we had a Colombian Dr which explained to us the benefits and options of not an INJECTION but an ORAL OPTION for Vitamin K we took his advice and also agreed to do skin tests for the Jaundice by way of a sensor that was discussed as an option to poking our baby for blood. We appreciated the options provided by the Dr who took the time to listen to our concerns and had productive dialog on what we as parents could do regarding our son.We were expecting the Dr the next morning. Instead Dr. Phucket Tantivit entered the room with a machine. The Dr said the sensor was not accurate and that a blood draw would be administered. We said No. He then walked out and came back in regarding a blood type concern that may lead to brain damage. My wife questioned the Dr. if he had experience with the blood type being different between the mother O- and baby A. He said no he has studied on cases as such. You could tell he took it personal that we asked him a question. We then asked for alternative measures such as a lamp or item so that we can provide the baby to assist with the Jaundice. His response was he has never issued supplies to a patient. My wife mind you she has just given birth has been through a whirlwind of emotions trauma and is now in a FIGHT TO DEFEND YOUR BABY due to the environment created by Dr. Tantivit said that there is always a first for a doctor to request supplies for a patient to take home. The Dr found the comment to be insulting and demeaning with all his years of education and experience. Now here is where the tables turned on us as parents and we took extreme offense. He feels challenged yet this man has the arrogance and audacity to say You have TRICARE so I know you know what PROTOCOLS are. So not only did Dr. Tantivit go out of his realm and check what insurance we had maybe Tricare pays the big bucks to the hospital for extra days or services. But that comment was UNPROFESSIONAL and CLEARLY stated his intentions. For background my wife and I are both U.S Service members and combined we have 38 years of service to this great nation in the fight for FREEDOM. We were robbed of that FREEDOM by Dr. Tantivit. We even asked a nurse for a second opinion from another Dr. and we were told that No other Doctor would go against Dr. Tantivit because he is the Director of NEONATOLOGY. So we maintained our composure even thou Dr. Tantivit again said he could get the COURTS involved. We knew that this was his moment to try and get us riled up so we would be escorted out and our baby would be kept in the hospital. We advised we wanted to leave and signed a AMA form and departed. My wife and baby were wheel chaired out and no car seat check was performed. They just wanted to get rid of us at that point.Low and behold instead of enjoying these precious moments with our baby boy. My wife received a vile phone call from a social worker from Baptist while we were driving to our house questioning if she had gone to medical school and other sarcastic comments. The following morning Department of Children and Family arrived at our house and asked to question us and see the child. We complied and the agent took her notes and pictures for her report. Now all this unnecessary use of resources caused by an over reaching title wearer at a hospital has not only caused a mental strain affected a families relationship but also the falsification of medical records providing personal opinion over medical facts and BULLYING INTO COMPLIANCE will not be tolerated.Everyone that has had similar incidents with this hospital regarding these tactics at BAPTIST please write my name down and a list of names with similar reviews. I vow to follow through and make sure this does not happen to any Mother Father or Family ever again.

0 stars should be an option. Worst hospital experience in my life. night shift nurses are extremely rude and have extreme attitude a horrible trait to have as a nurse. My wife and I came to this hospital to have our beautiful daughter delivered. labor and delivery nurses have treated us with complete disrespect to our family coming in and out of the room. As first time parents we were very nervous and excited to see our family throughout the process our moods completely changed as soon as the night shift started because of their attitude towards our family. After having our baby delivered we were moved into a room where my wife and baby have been monitored and checked. Lets start off by saying this is the particular experience that has made Baptist the worst place to deliver a baby and be taken care of. We arent very bothersome people so when we do ask for something its because we really need it. Our first night again with the night shift we had asked for an extra pillow to help my wife breastfeed our newborn. we waited 3 hours until we realized we had yet to receive the pillow. I walked out and kindly reminded the nurse that we needed an extra pillow and she responded with I heard you Im busy right now. WOW just WOW. She had seemed to be busy chit chatting with the other nurses and not attending to our needs. We let that situation go because we know nurses get busy and sometimes they forget. But once again my wife asked if she could have a cup of ice and cranberry juice with her meal. After waiting 20 minutes my wife started eating as shes been extremely hungry and it took her about another 20 to finish eating her meal. After she was done we had yet to receive the cranberry juice and ice 40 minutes I walked outside and once again kindly reminded the nurse that we asked for ice and cranberry juice and I was told I was busy Ill get it now. With an attitude. Once again we brushed this situation off as we are more concerned with our newborn and her needs. The biggest slap in the face was when my wife was being discharged but my daughter was not communication in this hospital needs to be fixed and not passed onto 20 million people. Our nurses were coming in and out of the room asking my wife if she was leaving. We were a bit confused as we have never heard the mother being discharged without their newborn so we asked questions. Their reasoning started at the neonatologist requesting cps to come and ask us questions to make sure we had support. We felt a bit discriminated considering my wife is 19 and I am 22 years old. We were under the impression that she was not being discharged for that reason. The other nurses were coming in and out of the room stating that they were going to finish the babies tests so we can be on our way so we said ok sounds good. They finished all their tests and assured us everything went great until one of the nurses came back to tell us we werent Able to leave once again because the DR had requested for us to stay 48 hours after delivery feeling like an excuse for whatever the real reason was. After accepting the fact that we will just have to wait I walk outside to get something from the gift shop and hear the group of nurses gossiping about our situation. We are extremely disappointed at the care and communication this hospital has made us experience.

While the maternity hospital is excellent I would highly recommend not coming here for childrens emergency care. The doctor who attended us had no bedside manner shamed my wife for her choices on breastfeeding and was unsympathetic and almost cruel when she became emotional due to struggling with the prospect of leaving our newborn in nicu. Would rather take my chances than go through that experience ever again. We ended up leaving.

Please if you have your kid is sick dont bring himher here. I went to this ER with my 6 years old son with a terrible headache and fever. He was literally crying in pain with only 3 children ahead of us they kept me wait more than 1 hour and a half in the waiting room because the dont have available beds . End of the history I had to leave and wait to the other day to see his pediatrician. We you Have a children emergency when you cant even guarantee that you have a bed for a sick child . I had the best opinion of this hospital today it changed totally. I dont give you cero stars because you dont give the option. Horrible experience

We had excellent care from the entire Baptist team and feel fortunate to have been in such great hands. Dr. Ligio Tavarez went above and beyond to care for our daughter and checked in on Ariana the following day from his personal phone. I highly recommend this hospital.

Never ever go to that hospital with a small child I have always gone to the emergency hospital and they have never made me feel as bad as I do today my daughter had asthma a 4-year-old girl the first person who treated me was a nurse who has The worst treatment in the world he was angry shouting super annoyed at everything he said no I think his name is Bob a gray-haired man then Dr. CARLOS EDUARDO BARAHONA came in I thought he was going to help me on the contrary all the time treating me as if I were crazy and talking sarcastically to me making faces at me with the nurse because I was explaining my daughters symptoms how she was breathing before she arrived at the emergency room and he told me that then the symptoms had gone away out of nowhere that the girl had already it was not breathing like that as if I would like to go to the emergency room for nothing lack of humanity of all that I am worried about my daughter and him laughing with the nurse later when another girl came in to give the aerosol to my daughter The doctor opened his eyes and told her good luck with that wow I was in chock in a childrens emergency where they should calm you down not laugh at the parents. In a place where children are served such inhuman people should not work.
