My 11yr old was scheduled for surgery at the center with Dr. Wood. I was told to have her there at 830 AM we were in the pre-op area for over two hours with no word from anesthesiologist nor Dr. Woods I started getting concerned shared my concerns with nurses finally got a hold of the operating nurse who told me they put two other patients in front of my child but it wouldnt be more than 45 minutes almost another hour past finally got a hold of Dr. Woods he told me I was next to turn around and take another child to the operating room before my daughter and for Dr. Woods to tell me that 10-month-old child was hungry even though he got there after my daughter I felt very discriminated against my daughter being a minority and that child being Caucasian my daughter waited patiently over two hours for her to be told. She still has to wait because another child of a different color was hungry my daughter is a very smart intelligent sweet child. The nurses even said it she was hungry as well so for Dr. Woods to tell her that I felt very discriminated against and I would never allow my child to get surgery done at that facility if thats how theyre going to be treating people of minority something needs to change to have an 11-year-old child crying having her bottom hurt for sitting over two hours to be told she still have to wait because another Caucasian child was hungry I was furious and I would never allow my child to feel less than another child because of her color so she did not get surgery today I canceled it Ill find another facility that offers great service and treats patients as equals.

Took my 10 month in today to get the tubes in his ears. Everyone in the childrens side was fantastic. They went above and beyond for my little man. RN Julie was amazing and kept asking my wife and I if we needed anything. So happy we were able to schedule the procedure with this amazing team. Doctor wood was absolutely amazing and super informative. Thank you guys again

Had a wonderful experience Im very grateful Thank you for taking great care of my baby. The doctors and staff were AMAZINGThank you to Dr. Philip Gleason Kelly PA and Carol RNThe rating reflects the One Parent PolicyThere is one area of improvement that needs to change for the well-being of the pediatric patient. The one-parent policy is outdated unsafe beyond stressful has a high potential for a poor outcomes and a risk management case. To obtain informed consent for an underage child BOTH parents should have access to the child surgeon and anesthesiologist. Especially if both parents are requesting to be with the child and to talk to the doctors. Legally the consent only needs one signature however if both parents want to speak with the doctors in the preop area this should not be dismissed.I was told the one-parent policy convinces the doctors and helps them stay on time with surgeries since they dont have both parents there to ask questions. The policy has nothing to do with COVID- and if it did we are 3 years post-COVID and should no longer be instated. I know that Mayo and PCH allow both parents to be with children in the pre-op department. Its time to move forward for the well-being of the pediatric patient and family. Both parents are allowed to visit during the PACU recovery. I found this to be amazing and appropriate.I noticed there was no changing station in the visitor bathroom. There is no location for mothers to express breast milk.I have filled out the survey with my cell number and welcome a phone call to share my experience and hopefully bring change to this outdated policy.

Sweetest most caring people from the very beginning of check-in until the end. The nurse we had in recovery was pretty intense and rushed but not rude to us. Everyone seemed to care very deeply about my daughters surgery and made sure comfort was the first priority. The registrar was very sweet and informative. The nurse my daughter had checked in on her to make sure she was comfortable constantly and they were very good working with the young crowd. The surgeon of course was amazing and the anesthesiologist was an incredibly kind man Thank you so very much for making not only my daughter comfortable but me comfortable as well You all are incredible please dont change.

Awful experience from the business end of this place. Was told the cost would be one thing and had a piece of paper with the beak down of expenses with me. When I got there it was over four times as much and they refused to do my procedure without payment. Will not go back back.Received numerous text messages for pre op stuff and I had called for my pre op information. Just unnecessary harassment.Negative star rating here.

I took my 6-month-old son here for a procedure and the staff was exceptional Ebony checked us in and was so kind and caring. I especially loved that she took the time to stress the importance of opioid safety and how to dispose of it properly and the effects on the environment if its not disposed of correctly. So important and no one has ever taken the time to educate me on that Carol was there for my son post-op and she was really warm and sweet and gentle. I am so grateful my son was in such good hands with every person on the staff.

In mid January my little one underwent a myringotomy. My experience up until our pacu time was great. Our procedure changed in the middle. My daughters procedure was changed in the middle of her surgery an adenoidectomy was added. I was consented and was told prior how things would change as far as anesthesiarecovery. With the added portion of the procedure my daughter was given an iv during the surgery. The PACU RN told me before I could hug my daughter that it was ok to get her dressed and we could be on our way as she already is pulling out the iv barely used 75 ccs of LR maybe I assessed her more than the nurse did asking what hurts Her tummy Her throat I asked for ice chips or water which the nurse promptly returned with a cup of water. My daughter is tearful and again cant verbalize what shes feeling. The doctor told me oral Tylenol or ibuprofen should be sufficient for any pain control however when we asked for some the RN advises me that the facility doesnt carry childrens liquid Tylenol that they have made some changes in the facility and dont carry it anymore. I was appalled. All of a sudden my daughter projectile vomits up the water mucous and some blood. Honestly looks normal to me considering the procedure. But now Im fuming mad. I never made a scene but I should have Iv access was taken out too early my child has pain and the facility had no meds appropriate for her. Why are they accepting peds cases if they cant even carry the appropriate medication And now shes vomiting with no iv access to help with pain or nausea because it was taken out too soon Iv fluids could have been running for a bit longer considering the fact that my daughter was fasting and dehydrated she never had a proper bolus of fluid beforehand. Yes she received zofran during the procedure but again hydration could have helped a little. I meandisconnect it but leave the access to give an anti nausea medication or some form of pain control if needed. GIVE PEOPLE MORE TIME The next day we received a follow up call. The nurse that called was fine until I told her I had some feedback for the facility and asked if I could provide that to her. I was informed that I was on speaker phone as well. The nurses attitude quickly switched and in a condescending tone told me verbatim ok mom give me your best shot Wow Beyond inappropriate I dont know the name of this particular person but wow I kept my composure and proceeded to give my version of our experience. She was quite defensive and questioned me stating and what would you suggest maam that we push more zofran Kelly RN the same nurse that did our preop grabbed the phone and told me I was taken off speakerphone and she proceeded to take over the call. I cant believe there are nurses that are this rude being defensive over another nurses actions. And youre treating me as if I know nothing Im pacu trained I know a bit more than the average person considering I do the same job the whole phone call was absurd Kelly and I talked about how things could be improved upon like carrying the appropriate medication at the facility and keeping the iv in a bit longer especially considering my daughter never got a fluid bolus before anesthesia was given due to the change in the middle of the procedure. Needless to say preop great pacu and everything afterwards.awful Unprofessional inappropriate condescending and cannot even pacu recover patients appropriately. Choose to speak respectfully to patientstheir parents and understand that feedback isnt to be cruel or personal like this person decided to take it its to benefit the facility and its employees to better its safety practicesprotocols. I have never been spoken to this way by any medical professional ever. Considering this surgery center is run by Atlas and not Banner they sure are giving Banner a bad name

I was so nervous today to have a couple of procedures done today. From the moment you walk in they are so extremely nice and professional. They put you at ease for sure. They take time to talk and answer your questions and are so patient with you. My husband witnessed the kindness and caring for people as he was in the waiting room. They truly care about your needs and make you comfortable. I hope I never have to come back but if I do i will make sure I come here.
