Hi. I thought Id expand on my review of Banner Physical Therapy noting that in addition to my Therapist Sabrina Laukonen doing an awesome job getting me through my failed Knee Replacement Recovery I wanted to acknowledge the office staff as well. The Office in general have been great and one in particular first name is Tiana has been great taking care of my payments copies of my PT Records etc. She also has provided me with mental inspiration acknowledging changes in my therapy when I come into PT. Thanks again to Banner getting my life back on track Im posting a photo of me walking something I had serious doubts Id ever do again

At Banner Health my Therapist was Mark VanDam he was personable and very helpful. He explained what needed to be done to help my vestibular imbalance once he made the adjustment I was fine and he gave me the number to call if I had any issues or needed an adjustment in the future. This was very easy and it worked

This place is amazing Very clean nice gym and if you can choose a physical therapist choose SABRINA I forget Her last name but she is AMAZING literally the BEST. She is extremely dedicated to your overall well-being and healing and genuinely puts a lot of time effort and thought into your plan exercises and stretches. She knows what shes talking about and had a TON of experience too. She is genuinely passionate about her work and you can tell she loves her job. If somethings too easy or not working for you she will provide you with so many other options. Sabrina you are an Angel and she will help you recover like none other

It was suggested to me to take physical therapy before considering a knee and hip replacement. My therapist is Eugene Tang. He helped me with my exercise and treatment. Now Im getting stronger and now have more mobility. He is an excellent PT.

I was really looking forward to starting PT here. They called me back in June when they got my referral from my banner doctor. They called me 2 weeks ago and rescheduled but I was able to reschedule within the same week. They waited until 2 days before my appointment to call me and tell me there was a problem with my insurance which I get through the VA. I called the VA. They sent me a copy of the authorization which clearly states that PT was approved for 15 visits. I had the VA call them as well as my banner doctor. I was told everything was fine and to go to my appointment by multiple people and even got a text reminder about a half hour before my appointment. When I showed up and signed in on the chart next to my name which was already on the chart for my designated appointment time they told me my appointment was canceled for insurance problems. I brought the authorization to show her in case this might happen. She didnt care and told me that my insurance didnt cover it even though I was holding the proof that they did cover it. It left me with the impression that they just dont want to help veterans. So thats awesome.Update.. a Banner PT manager called me the following day and explained what happened. It was truly a miscommunication because banner didnt have the correct phone number extension. And the person they spoke to at the VA had incorrect information. They are currently working on this now and I have been rescheduled for an appointment in 10 days. Update to follow after I see them. I truly appreciate the response time and compassion from Banner in trying to get this straightened out.

Absolutely the best Physical Therapy center in all of Maricopa County. I have been with therapist Mark Van Dam off and on as needed for over 20 years. He has also given therapy to my wife and three other family members and friends. If there were more than 5 stars to give him as a rating I would give the absolute maximum.He is so upbeat and positive in all of his instruction and always explains the dynamics behind what he is trying to accomplish.

I was pleasantly surprised at how great an experience I had with Banner Physical Therapy. Eugene Physical Therapist was amazing from the start - the consultation was thorough and he was thoughtful in asking me questions and testing my strength and flexibility around my hip. Then in session he was the right amount of encouraging while also pushing me. He also discussed the things I could do at home to improve my strength range of motion and balance. I felt like I had a real ally on my journey to better hip health. I am super gratefulThe rest of the staff was also professional friendly and approachable. It was an overall great experience with Banner Physical Therapy and I would definitely recommend them and Eugene.

It is my pleasure to share my review for Banner University Medical Center physical therapy office that I recently had the pleasure of visiting. From start to finish my experience at this office was outstanding and truly exceeded my expectations.One of the standout characteristics of this office was the friendly and welcoming staff. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with warm smiles and a positive energy that put me at ease. The front desk staff were always extremely helpful and informative and they made sure that I had all of the information I needed before and after each session.However what truly set this physical therapy office apart was the knowledge and experience of my therapist Grace who helped me through my recovery process. Not only is she extremely skilled and knowledgeable about her craft but she was also patient and attentive to my needs throughout my time at Banner. She always took the time to listen to my concerns and to explain each step of the process in detail which helped me feel more comfortable and confident in my treatment.In addition to the exceptional staff the facility itself was also top-notch. It was clean organized and well-equipped with all of the necessary tools and equipment to facilitate my recovery process. Banner Physical Therapy with Corey and.Spencer has been a very positive experience.The facility itself presents as clean well maintained with state of the art equipment. The staff is amazing. Speech therapy is almost always recommended for autistic children since many people with autism have difficulty with social communication. Even if a child is very verbal and says a lot of words, they might need to work on communication skills like:
responding to questions
starting or ending conversation
changing conversation topics
using gestures like pointing
understanding other people's body language
Speech therapy is a big focus in early intervention for autistic children and is usually the starting place for recently diagnosed kids. There is a critical period in the brain for language development and so, it's really important to teach language and communication skills as early as possible, especially if there are any delays in that area. Your child will learn effective ways to communicate which will help them grow into more independent and confident individuals.
It might be obvious when a child struggles with speaking —they are very quiet, say only a few words, or don't speak at all.

The goal of speech therapy is to help your child communicate effectively with other people across all environments. This may take the form of using gestures, simple signs, verbal speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Some other common things speech therapists can help with:
Nonverbal skills, such as signs or gestures
Forming speech in a clearer way
Communicating thoughts and feelings clearly
Understanding and responding to questions
Discerning facial expressions and their corresponding emotions

The occupational therapy process includes an OT evaluation before care starts. Here are the four steps your family can expect when starting occupational therapy:
Complete OT evaluation. An occupational therapist first identifies your child’s strengths and needs through a thorough OT evaluation, also known as an OT assessment or screening. You’ll answer questions about your child’s skills, and your child will most likely demonstrate their skills via hands-on activities with the therapist. Evaluations can last 30 minutes to a few hours.
Approve OT plan. The therapist develops a care plan with individualized goals and customized interventions based on your child’s needs. You can also share any specific goals or concerns before approving the OT plan.
Start therapy sessions. The therapist works directly with your child and your family, using various strategies and exercises to systematically improve areas of limitations and to build upon a child’s strengths. Some exercises your child might participate in are animal walks, obstacle courses, and therapy swing activities. Your family may learn strategies for supporting your child’s individualized needs at home, such as ways of supporting emotional regulation and sensory processing. The therapist may also recommend tools and techniques to use at home, in the community, or in the classroom to help your child succeed.
Monitor your child’s progress. Parents and caregivers can expect ongoing progress monitoring and communication to ensure the child is achieving their short and long-term goals.
Occupational therapy can also be provided virtually via telemedicine. Virtual therapy is a great option for families in rural areas who may not have access to in-person services, or for families who prefer to have therapy in their child’s home.
Virtual OT allows the opportunity for increased caregiver participation and understanding of a child’s strengths, areas of improvement, and generalization of skills in the child’s home environment. Virtual therapy also provides increased opportunities for caregiver and family education to support the child and the family based on each family’s needs.
Once you find a quality physical therapist you want to work with, here are a few things you need to know:
There will be an evaluation. First, you can expect an assessment to identify your child’s areas of strength and needs. A physical therapy evaluation usually lasts 30 minutes.
You’ll review and approve the care plan. The physical therapist will create a care plan, also known as a plan of care (POC), outlining the goals and strategies. They will review this with you and your care team before moving forward with therapy sessions.
Physical therapy sessions will be fun. PT with children is designed to be enjoyable. The therapist will use strategies and exercises based on your child’s needs. Exercises might involve playing on large stability balls, obstacle courses, movement equipment, stretches, and other hands-on activities.
Expect home exercises. Physical therapists commonly assign exercises to work on at home. Doing these exercises with your child outside therapy sessions can improve your child’s overall progress.
Yes! Most providers offer physical therapy in their offices or a clinical setting, but many are offering at-home options. Virtual options have become more popular in recent years. You might facilitate care with the guidance of the physical therapist.
Pediatric physical therapy is considered safe and should not hurt. Autistic children spend their time in PT moving and exploring their environment.
