My husband went into the emergency room here. The staff was good . When he was released it was late. A young man took him to the emergency room exit. I was at the Main Entrance. My husband called me and told me where he was at. The person that took him to the exit and just left him. He was still weak and by the time I drove around to pick him up. He was setting on a bench and very pale and not walking very good. No wheel chair from his room to the exit.

I recently had a procedure done at this hospital. Ill admit I was skeptical because of where the hospital is located. The staff were absolutely amazing. From the volunteers to the nurses surgical staff anesthesiologist all were extremely warm kind and made me feel completely comfortable. I was extremely nervous because I had never had surgery before but the people that work there and the volunteers as well made me feel confident and calm. I had a very good experience there and wouldnt hesitate to go again if ever needed.

I am giving this many stars for this review because throughout the years I have come and things were bad in the beginning. But wow I am so impressed with the changes they have made and also I went to the emergency room yesterday. I only spent three hours there was seen blood taken CT scan done and I was out of there in 3 hours. All the nurses and the doctors were so nice.

I want to thank Liz and Landis and Dr. Dixon for your amazing care for my husband. There are others I would like to thank as well but dont remember names. ED was great until his night nurse in the ED was assigned before he was sent to the ED satellite unit. I am very disappointed that the night ED nurse would not give my husband pain medication when pain control was why he was there. His x-ray did not show anything but later his MRI did. You are not there to decide if someone is in pain in relation to imaging. The doctors orders were in for pain and muscle relaxer and my husband went 6 hours before he was able to get more finally when he transferred to the satellite unit. He was able to walk short distance 2 days later on his day of dc which I attribute to the steroids and pain and muscle spasm control and the attention and non judgmental nursing and doctor care during his observation status. Thank you

I had my first baby here last week. My labor and delivery experience was painless and exceptional All the LD nurses and staff were friendly and respectful. Everything they did was thoroughly explained. Was discharged the very next day.

Kimberly was very professional with me her listening skills were good her explanations for each exercise was explained before doing them and she was also very attentive to knowing that my primary purpose for being there is to get better so that I can live my life fully. I am an excellent reader of people for example if they care about what they are doing for me which she displayed care during my PT initial visit.

All of the staff Ive interacted with here have always been so helpful and empathetic. I had a hospital stay for an induced labor recently and have been to the ER several times and each time the nurses and practitioners Ive interacted with have been excellent. I am really happy with the care Ive received here.

I am writing this review from my hospital bed. The treatment at this hospital is awful. The quality of care I am receiving has dropped dramatically since I asked to speak to a nurse manager for lack of care and the staff ignoring my request to bath. After going 4 days without bathing and waiting 9 hours on Sunday to bath I finally asked to speak to a nurse manager. Only then was I given a bath but then my care was being denied and declined. My urinal was being left full and put on the table where I eat. Nurses stopped bringing me water and checking on my wellbeing. After complaining my food was being brought cold or completely wrong. Before finally entering shower I told cna that the soap dispensary on the wall was out but she continued to argue with me saying it had soap. Finally after leaving me in shower without washcloths and soap for 10 minutes they finally confirmed that there was no soap. I told the nurse at the very beginning it was empty. As patients we have rights to be able to seek care and complain without staff deliberately retaliating against the patient for speaking up on their behalf. Finally after going days without bathing I have developed a painful red and raw rash that I have to contend with now. Lastly i have got to the point where asking for anything as simple as brushing your teeth turns into an altercation with my CNA so i am no longer requesting any help. Today my nurses shift started at 7am and my water to drink has sat empty the entire day at 4pm without anyone checking on my behalf. My doctor ordered my discharge yesterday mornimg but 36 hours later i still sit here trapped in this hateful prison of mistreatment and uncaring staff. I am a social worker trained to be a social services director of nursing homes so i am fully aware of the care that patients deserve. Please reconsider bringing your loved ones to Banner for your healthcare needs. Lastly if Banner truly cared about their patients they would have someone from within the hospital walk up on the 5th floor to address my concerns instead of answering each review with a automatic message from a computer. As I sit here still I want to update my lack of care. I have not had a CNA or nurse check on me in over 9 hours now. They did not check my sugars or give me insulin before my dinner like they have been doing. I am no longer receiving antibiotics after having partial foot amputation. I am now frightened for my safety and documenting the mistreatment from this staff.

Just had surgery on 1226 and the care was excellent from the volunteers who escort you to the prep nurse who painlessly put in my IV. The nurse who did my vitals was also very nice. The anesthesiologist was so good at her job I had no nausea when I woke up in post op and the post op nurse was right there to greet me Love The Staff

Frequently Asked Questions
When you visit a neurologist, they’ll assess your child’s needs, run some tests (think imaging or EEG), and diagnose. From there, they’ll create a customized treatment plan. Medication, lifestyle tweaks, or maybe even a referral to another specialist could be on the table.
There unfortunately isn’t one test for all neurodevelopmental conditions. Most likely you will go into a visit to test one or two medical conditions. If you are looking for a comprehensive autism evaluation, developmental pediatricians, psychologists, or neuropsychologists are the preferred specialists who can diagnose autism.
No, neurologists focus mainly on non-surgical interventions. If your child needs surgery, neurologists might point you in the direction of a pediatric neurosurgeon.
Yes, picky and selective eating is actually a quite common concern for children with autism. If you rolled your eyes looking at the steps above because your child with autism has never had a full day's serving of vegetables in their life, you are definitely not alone. As if getting kids to eat their veggies isn’t challenging enough, research shows children with autism have significantly more eating challenges than their peers who are not autistic.
In addition to sensory difficulties that can lead to a lot of anxiety with food, autistic children are 4x more likely to have gastrointestinal issues such as stomach pain and discomfort. This creates the perfect storm for extra extra picky eaters - and a lot of added obstacles and concerns for parents.
The difficulties associated with autistic children and food can cause a wide range of concerns from children being underweight to overweight (overweight children can still be at risk for nutritional deficiencies!). This can lead to slower than normal growth and nutritional deficiencies like low vitamin D and calcium levels. Even when given multivitamins, many children with autism are still found to have some of these nutritional deficiencies.
Here are some tips:
Keep to a schedule - setting schedules for meal and snack time can help picky eaters build up their appetite throughout the day
Minimize distractions - removing distractions like screens and toys can help your child be more engaged at mealtime
Approach new foods together - Make new foods less scary by trying them together. Touching and smelling the food together before tasting it
Support choice & control - Allowing your child to pick which foods they eat will help them feel more in control
It may not seem obvious, but eating is a complex behavior that involves perceptual, emotional, and cognitive processes. And we know that children with autism process things differently. While many of us look forward to things like our afternoon snack, it may be an activity that causes a lot of anxiety for your child.
Parents describe food selectivity being determined by a few of the following factors: texture (69%), appearance (58%), taste (45%), smell (36%), and temperature (22%). Uniform texture, bland and neutral color foods are reported to be overwhelmingly preferred by more than 90% of children with ASD.
A Pediatric Gastroenterologist manages digestive health in children. This field covers the entire gastrointestinal (GI) tract including the hepatobiliary-pancreatic systems (think absorbing nutrients from our food, eliminating waste, etc.) and nutritional disorders (think obesity, malnutrition, etc.).
