Outstanding admissions experience for my family member. Very thoughtful anticipating needs and explaining the process and answering questions.

I have been in many skilled nursing buildings along with long term care communities as well. The administrator Allen James is amazing and really cares for his staff and will be seen on the floor right next to the staff in each department helping where he can. The RCMs Carrie and Kathy are amazing for never skipping a beat and helps where ever is needed. The medical records is always quick to respond and get anyone information needed in a timely manner. The floor staff is always to be found if not wait a minute and they will be seen coming out of a residents room. There is no such thing as perfect but taking in consideration this new day in age and the field....I think this community is moving in the right direction. I can say i am lucky to have came across Avamere Oregon City

3 stars as Im as yet undecided. Update they did bring in a phone extension cord so she can now reach the phone. Original My mom just got checked in. It is around shift change time so well give it a chance but things dont seem quite as organized as our previous experience at a different facility. There are staff members in the hallway having a rather loud conversation which includes a few swear words. What the F... do you expect Was said as well as a few and all that sh..t type statements. Its not an angry conversation but rather animated and without any discretion of volume or content. It seems these types of interactions should be in a staff room or out of client earshot. The only phone in the room is clear across the other side of the room. My mom cannot get up and cross the room to get to the phone. She just had hip surgery and requires assistance to get up. There is a phone jack by her bed but it does not work. Were told that they just changed their phones and went to only one in the room its set up for 2 but is being used as a single room. We are however grateful for the single room. Michelle with admissions is great Havent seen other staff members for more than a minute or two. They left Mom sitting in wheelchair waiting to be weighed and didnt return. Finally an aide assisted her into bed. No COVID test taken but I believe they didnt do that at hospital either. Maybe thats not done anymore. Joni just came in with meds. First staff member to introduce herself as she entered the room. Much appreciated Joni Like I said its shift change so well see if things get better. Will update as warranted

My grandma came to this facility after being in a coma for around a month. I went to visit her last night I stood at the front desk for 10min before flagging somebody down to tell me what room she is in the whole time I was waiting nurses and other staff were walking by me and I made eye contact with several different people who quickly looked away. during our visit she wanted me to find a wheelchair so I could take her out of her room we pressed her call light and waited nearly 15min before I went out to find somebody. When the nurse finally brought a wheelchair in my grandma asked her if she needed to go find a second person to help her or how she wanted to go about getting my grandma from the bed to the wheelchair. The nurses response was no just stand up. SHE CANT. I watched while my grandma asked this woman for help for several minutes. Over and over she was told to just stand up. Finally after trying over and over again to stand up on her own she was too weak to even sit up in bed anymore.I attempted to talk to somebody in management but no one was there so I expressed my concerns to the RN in charge of her hall.

My mom has been there since March after a fall and leg fracture. Her leg was fixed with a knee replacement but her dementia made her unable to walk from fear. She went to Avamere rehab in Oregon city for recovery. Although she did not recover and is still there the staff and nursing there are great. I could move here closer to us but not sure of the care she would end up with. I love Lynn the social worker. Kathy the head nurse. And most of all the CNAs Mary Shawndaand Mo Along with many others. The night crew indigo You all are saints. If I missed spelled youre names I apologize. If I missed anyone Im sorry but your all great.Yes not everything is perfect but those guys are doing there absoulte best.

My 92-year-old roommate has been in there for going on 2 months they claim to be a rehabilitation center but nobody ever comes in to get her up to walk yeah theyre nothing more than send your elderly family member here to die or will make sure they get to the point where we will put them in a nursing home but I havent seen them give any effort in her rehabilitation she should be getting up to three four times a day to walk and theyre not getting her up

I am an agency nurse and have seen many skilled nursing facilities. Avamere Oregon City is very clean. They are well staffed as far as skilled facilities go. All of the staff was kind and compassionate with residents and staff both. I would definitely consider this facility if I needed rehab after a hospital discharge.

DATED FEBRUARY 10 2019IT DOES NOT SMELL LIKE A NURSING HOME This is my THIRD VISIT HERE OVER 2 years and its time in association with the Oregon city facility. I was quite still impressed how clean this place is compared to others in the area.Is right next-door to Willamette Park hospital which makes it easy for a transfer and rehabilitation before getting back home.In all of my contact with the employees including how long it takes to get a response after my mother 73 years old pushes the button was very impressive even better than a hospital stay.I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has to make a quick decision and not much time to check for reviews. It does not smell like a nursing home and Ive been in previously and in all my visits I saw at least three people cleaning on my way in and on my way out later.I have a very strong Internet signal which is poured for my mother as she is used to using for her cell phone use and YouTube connectivity. The televisions were normal flat screen panel on the wall and have plenty of channels including my moms favorite Charles Stanley ministry station. Some of the bad reviews that I see posted..... I noticed sometimes people are pessimistic especially when you go see their other reviews. Complainers like voice out out but not too many people who have had good experiences voice out as much and thats unfortunate. . So this is why I am taking the time to get them a high rating and will update as they care for my mother continues again she is blind and is 73 years old and bedridden. She can be very hard to deal with at times with her attitude but I notice the people are patient and handle angry tenets with love and care.I will be doing More surprise visits and update so there will be more of an accurate review.PS Mom says she loves the food Don

Too of high staffclient ratio although most of them seemed nice and pleasent they just seem to have too many people to care for if they had even a few less clients they could have time to spend getting to know the entire person which might help staff and client alike .Poor treatment from the house Dr. He might try working on improving his bedside. And even though I have my own team of Dr.s working with me and managing my care and medications very very carefully house and sent standing orders for my care medications Dr. attempted and then did change standing orders and medication that had been closely monitored by several Drs the entire experince with this medical house Dr was frustrating and extremely upsetting. The food didnt seem appealing to me at all. As for quality I cant say since it was not real inviting and I could not get myself to eat much. I was lucky my my husband was close by and brought me in food. And then had concerns about the cleanliness of my surroundings......I had a shared bathroom with several other rooms the toilet went most of the with dried fecses poop spray on toilet seat on it my husband noticed it as did I and staff was told and housekeeping was supposed to come clean it. Again I think if staff wasnt so over worked it wouldnt of been an issue as well maybe the staff taking a client to the toilet should be in charge of clean up instead of waiting for housekeep or at least regular cleaning schedule more than once a shift especially when several people are sharing a bathroom. Basically I cried from frustration and pain most of my stay and was packed and ready to leave at least once a day. even if it was AMAWhich could of lead to insurance not paying the 4000 a day bill.I would suggest not using any Avamere facilites because they would all have the same basic company policies therefore the same basic clientpaitent treatment Especially if you are putting someone might have trouble advicating strongly for themselves and have a strong outside support system close by for outside asisstance.I had a struggle and I in my 40s educated in social services and the medical and care giving fields. As well my husdand and children and friends that were all only 3 miles away and where able to come a check on me and bring items I need several times a day.
