Athena Care - Murfreesboro

literally the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a doctors office. If you ever have a need to speak to an actual human in the actual office that you visit do not go here. And do not believe the lie that its quicker to text them on their text line. this is no exaggeration I texted them almost 2 months ago and they still havent responded to it. And unless you cancel or reschedule three business days in advance they will charge you a missed appointment fee So please plan all illnesses accordingly. They are an absolute joke. I have no idea why we have stayed with them for so long but we will no longer be using their services. I would avoid them at all cost.

Again my husband is left without his medication because they said they sent them to pharmacy but never did. You have no idea the stress this causes for someone with his disorder to not have his medication Also its the weekend which means he will be off his medication for multiple days Our house will literally be hell this weekend This is absolutely upsetting to the fullest. Not to mention it will take time for his medication to start working again No way to contact anyone on the weekends for situations like this literally leaves patients stranded

The billing department representative Jennifer Parris has been so kind and patient. She helped me realize that my provider was being billed out of network. That was not coming from Athena Care it was coming from cigna. I spoke to Cigna and finally got someone to recognize that it was in fact a Cinga issue. Claims are being reprocessed. Jennifer was trusting me that what I was telling her about my deductible was true. She was so friendly helpful and kind. I cant say enough good things about her. Thank you tank you thank.

My experience is great Thomas treats me like he really cares about what his patients are going through and wants to do what he can to help me other people cope with every day life. Hes an amazing Dr. Hes helped me in a lot of things that makes me feel like a better person than I was till I started seeing him.. Im So thankful for him and his stay

Dr. Wyatt is phenomenal. I walked away with a clear understanding of my assessment diagnosis and path forward with many treatment options and resources. Dr. Wyatt is the pillar of professionalism and I trust her expertise. I wish Id sought assessment much sooner. The entire staff at the practice also were each pleasant and compassionate. Id recommend this location and Dr. Wyatt to anyone.

My sons pediatrician sent a referral to Athena Care but they never contacted me to set up his appointment. I finally called after a couple of months and got the appointment scheduled. I specifically requested an in-person appointment when I set up his initial consultation. When we arrived 5 minutes before the appointment the front desk receptionist very rudely informed me that the provider did not come to the office on Fridays and that our appointment would have to be tele health. We drove 45 minutes for an appointment that we could have taken at home. After I complained they allowed us to use an iPad in one of their offices instead of taking the appointment in my car. The provider never apologized or acknowledged the blunder. Its obvious the communication with this practice is severely lacking our pediatrician warned us this was the case and this makes me question the level of care my son would receive. For this reason we are going to find a different provider and practice to address our childs needs. I would absolutely not recommend Athena Care after our experience.

I was hopeful that my daughter would receive desent care here however shes been on a waiting list for almost a year to receive any type of counseling. Not only that but the message system is so flawed. My daughter is prescribed ssri medication. Medicine that alters your brain chemistry and can have serious adverse effects. So when her ssri meds are being switched or changed I would think it would be vital that your provider gives you clear instructions. But when you cant directly speak with your provider the messenger that calls you back cant elaborate on the instructions. Shes told to stop taking the new ssri medication that wasnt working and making her symptoms worse then to continue taking all other medications. So she ask this messenger does that mean to go back to taking the old ssri medication because shed have to wait 3 whole weeks before the next appointment They cant give a clear answer and tell her to continue with all medications. My daughter is frustrated now because she cant go a whole three weeks without any ssri for her condition. I dont understand why her provider cant call to speak with her directly for a short 2 minute conversation. Shes been having very concerning symptoms and for over a week weve been leaving messages but been getting no response. I really hope for future patients the quality of care and this failed message system can be improved.

These people are impossible to get a hold of they will never return a phone call a txt message or a email. I have honestly been trying to get in touch with them for the possibility of a new appointment for almost a month. Seriously its been that long. I left them a voicemail today 11-17-23 saying if you are not taking new customers would you at least have the decency to call me and tell me that please. But I will never get a call from them. Its totally ridiculous to have a public business and operate this way.

Love to tell you how much I loath this place. I thought I found a provider who cared and an office that had their stuff together. Was I wrong from never communicating any changes to mental health patients who change can deeply affect to just down right no returning phone calls. It ended in me being hospitalized then to top it off my provider quit and it took weeks for me to get an appointment if you want them to treat your mental health like a number this is the place for you if you. Not to mention the staff retention rate is in the trash

Ive been trying for over 3 business days to have someone return a phone call portal message and text message. I have still yet to hear from anyone. Son seen 4 business days ago and still no dr note for his appointment or medicine has been called in. I would notRecommend this place to anyone as I really dont think they have anyone working at this place. You can never get a real person and they will not get back with you.
