Aspire Behavioral Health & Developmental Disability Services - Albany

I brought my 21yr old son to Aspire the Crisis side due to him having some mental health issues that needed to be taken care of immediately. Hed only been there 3 days and two of the security guards beat him up unprovoked. This happened at night and no one cared to call me his mother to let me know he got jumped by staff. He had to call me crying the next day to let me know. So I went to pick my Son up and a nurse came out and told me I couldnt take my son home. Btw the nurse name is Ashley again the nurse name is Ashley shes white. Back to the story though she told me I couldnt bring my son home because he was a threat to himself and others which was a straight up lie. He wasnt a threat to no one when I took him. Ashley told me my son beat up two security guards the reason he was jumped by the security guards. My son is 56 125lbs.so I said so you telling me my little 125lbs son beat up two security guards she said yes. This white woman looked me dead in my eyes and lied to me several times. I asked her multiple times and she lied multiple times. Someone of higher authority watched the video to see exactly what happened and the security guards jumped my son for no reason whatsoever. Every single thing was caught on video. So take you loved ones somewhere else cause Aspire is not safe and Nurse Ashley will look you square in the eyes and lie to you and then when you call to confront her about her actions she gets mad and hangs up the phone. Dont take your people to Aspire Crisis. Remember the name Ashley.Signed a very angry mother

My husband has been attending the mat program for 15 mths they throw him out. Because Taylor the doctor will not up. His medications as he has asked in the past. Once your on a med for over a year and never abuse it but run out to soon Because the dosage isnt enough or medicine isnt right the medicine he was on is a benzo if you just take someone off a benzo it can cause serious seizures and other problems way to go doc for putting my husband life in jeopardy and not slowly taken him off a medication that can harm him if just taken off pee your words in the past

If you miss two appointments they completely unenroll you. Mental health comes with memory problems yallIf you want to reenroll you have to come in during walk-in hours.I showed up between 10-12 since that was the instruction and I was told to return between 1-3. So I did. Only to fill out a single sheet of paper and get an appointment nearly 3 weeks out. What... what was the point of having walk-in hours if you cant be seen Or what was the point if turning me away at 10 when I came in per instruction if all I had to do was fill out a single form. I had to miss work all day because of a singular woman at the front desk and her arbitrary rules. That loss of income affects my mental health more than the appointment would have benefitted it.They need to be audited. Clear out the front desk staff and do a complete overhaul of staff. The only compassion I have received in this office is from the doctor.The pharmacy staff has even forgotten about me. I checked in with them and got the usual have a seat and we will call you which I did. Until I heard them closing up shop and rolling the window closed and had to remind them that I existed and my medication is important. Which they know if I dont take it the withdrawal is brutal on my mind and body. They know this. Its a common side effect. And medication is literally their entire job.Zero stars if I could.They dont serve the community. They have found a way to manipulate their budget and their facade into serving themselves.Their governing agency really needs to do a deep undercover investigation.

I am so grateful for Aspire. Everyone who works at Aspire is truly a blessing to me and my son. They have been great. Thank you all so much. My family loves you for all you have done. May the good love and hope continues to all. Thanks so very much.

Youre honestly better off finding an actual therapist because they dont do anything professionally. Not even the counselor wants to help you identify or assist your problems. They just ask you questions off of a sheet instead. The head staff lie to you feed you cold meals give cold showers un-air-conditioned rooms and hard metal beds. Literally the only redeeming factor of being forced to go there is to talk with the nurses who are a better outlet for expressing feelings and talking to them. If you get 1013d and say that you cant leave immediately run for the door.

Theyre not interested in helping anyone. Lazy and lack compassion for those with mental health issues. I called because my neighbor was having a mental health crisis. I was told to call the police after I was told to call and they would help 247 if he has a crisis. What a joke

This place is a complete joke The staff are incompetent at best. Very rude and unprofessional. They cant stay off of their cellphones long enough to get anything done. Most all of them need to be shown the door because theyre obviously in the wrong profession. Theres one in particular that I would love to see face to face. I bet he wouldnt be a smart mouth anymore.

Dont ATTENTION Aspire will let your love ones wander off from there facility. The staff are terrible. My son had his money from his wallet stolen at Aspire. They took his brand new clothes. The Albany Police called me to let me know my son was wandering around Albany streets at night. I wouldnt recommend you dont take your love one to Aspire its terrible. My son could have ended up hurt thanks to Aspire.

My daughter goes there and some of the workers at that receptions desk has a nasty attitude and dont need to be there and talk to some of those clients like they are nothing thats why some of them clients act out on them its a way you talk to people everyone deserve respect they are in the wrong line of work. Then they want to call for Security when they can avoid the problem and talk right to them clients their no better than them God made us all therefore we are all his children and they have feelings and should be treated with respect as well.

If you go there for help be prepared to be manhandled and kept without your consent. Your family will be treated with no respect and laughed at or belittled for asking questions. You will be given drugs you do no want and told if you dont take them they will keep you longer. This place is worse than be being in jail. At least a family member can place bail.It wont matter who you call no one can help The police a lawyer your congressman No one They are not accountable to anyone it seemsNo this didnt happen to me but someone very close to me So if you think about going here RUN - run like hell Anywhere but Aspire
