About Aspira Family Focused Support Network - Turlock

Aspira Family Focused Support Network (FFSN) is designed to assist families with children who have developmental disabilities and/or special health care needs. FFSN is a practical support program that offers tools for families to keep children with disabilities living at home instead of in group care.;Like the Aspira ProFamily Program, the Family Focused Support Network is voluntary. Families are referred to the program by a state funded Developmental Regional Center case manager. Upon receiving a Regional Center referral, an Aspira social worker contacts the family and serves as the program coordinator. Clinical staff members conduct an initial assessment to evaluate what support the family needs to be successful. To insure that each family takes full advantage of the intensive services provided by the program, each family signs a contract agreeing to fully participate.;An individualized program specially tailored to each child and family is developed and implemented. Families are taught to recognize and develop their own strengths and assistance in accessing needed services available through other resources. Each program includes training, family meetings and home visits designed to improve parenting skills and enhance the quality of life for the child and all family members. Many families can complete the program during the initial six-month period, others stay on longer, depending on their specific needs.;Founded in 1995, more than 100 families have completed Aspira's Family Focused Support Network program.
