Introduction
Hi! I'm Amy, a pediatric speech-language pathologist based in Petaluma, CA. I've been working with children and young adults (ages 18 months-20 years) to develop effective communication skills since 2005. I'm a generalist and have experience diagnosing and treating speech and language delays, receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, auditory processing difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, social communication disorder, stuttering, and dyslexia. I love individualized care and developing supportive relationships with my clients and their families. I see the value in using child-led and neurodiverse-affirming therapy. There is nothing better than improving functional communication while also having fun and building self-esteem! In my free time, I enjoy hiking, baking, and singing in various Bay Area music projects.
What words would you use to describe yourself?

Committed
Kind: I sincerely care about the well-being of my clients and try to create a space where they feel respected, comfortable, and can build their confidence.
Engaging: I use fun, preferred activities to keep my clients interested so they will be motivated to try their best.
Committed: Through continuing education, regular collaboration, and flexibility, I work hard to implement effective therapy techniques. I am dedicated to helping my clients develop their communication skills.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
As a generalist, I help people with a wide variety of speech and language needs. I often support those that would benefit from early intervention as well as improvements in language understanding/formulation, speech sound repertoire, and social language skills. Feeding and swallowing is not my area of expertise, but I am happy to recommend useful resources.
