Introduction

Hi! I’m Amber, a speech-language pathologist and the owner of Articulate Minds Speech & Language Therapy. I have 15 years of experience supporting various children, students, and families with speech, language, and communication development across a wide range of ages. While I have a strong background in pediatrics, I also have extensive experience working with older students, and I enjoy supporting communication needs across different developmental stages.

I believe therapy should feel natural, meaningful, and connected to real life. I use a family-centered, individualized approach and love meeting each client exactly where they are, honoring their unique strengths, and building from what they already do well. I am also a strong advocate for my clients and work to ensure their communication needs are understood and supported across home, school, and community settings. I enjoy coaching parents and caregivers on strategies they can easily use during daily routines, and for older students, I focus on building confidence, independence, and functional communication skills that carry over into school, social settings, and beyond.

My goal is to help children communicate with confidence while empowering families to build strong, lasting connections that extend far beyond the therapy room.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Compassionate
Encouraging
Dedicated
I chose these three words because they really reflect how I show up for the children and families I work with. I lead with compassion because I take the time to really get to know each child—their personality, their strengths, and what makes communication feel hard for them. I’m encouraging because I want families to feel supported, not overwhelmed, as they learn new ways to help their child communicate. And I chose dedicated because I truly care about doing my job well and showing up consistently for every child I serve. I’m also very detail-oriented, which helps me notice the small things that matter and make sure each child’s plan is truly tailored to them. I believe progress comes from connection, consistency, and celebrating every step forward—no matter how small.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I am best positioned to support toddlers through high school-aged students who are experiencing challenges with speech, language, or social communication. I especially enjoy working with toddlers and young children, as this is such an important and exciting stage for building early communication skills and helping families feel confident and empowered in supporting language growth both at home and in daycare or preschool settings. I have extensive experience working in natural environments, including homes and schools, which allows me to support communication development where children learn and interact most. I also have specialized training and experience supporting children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, along with a strong background in articulation and speech sound disorders. I enjoy supporting school-aged children and teens as their communication needs become more complex, using functional, real-life communication and academic support.

While my practice is primarily pediatric and family-centered, I do have the ability to support some adult clients on a case-by-case basis, particularly for speech and language needs. However, I am not as well-positioned to provide services for adults or children requiring swallowing or feeding therapy, and I do not offer those services. I’m always happy to help families or individuals determine whether my services are the right fit.
