Introduction
Hi there! I’m Amanda, the founding speech-language pathologist behind The Speech Cottage Co. I’m passionate about helping children and their families reach their communication goals in a way that’s meaningful and personalized. As a proud Ramona resident, I value the opportunity to serve my local community and surrounding areas (across the state of CA). I earned my Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in 2017 and went on to gain hands-on experience as a speech-language pathologist assistant in diverse settings—from schools and hospitals to in-home and telehealth services. In 2023, I completed my Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Baylor University. Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family—whether it's exploring nature, attending church, or enjoying a cozy evening at home. These personal values of connection and care are at the heart of everything I do, and I bring the same dedication to the families I work with every day.
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Nurturing
Flexible
Creative
I’m committed to building strong, trusting relationships with my clients and their families by creating a supportive and encouraging environment. I understand that every child is unique, so I approach therapy with flexibility—adapting goals, methods, and activities to meet each individual’s needs. Creativity plays a key role in my sessions, helping me develop engaging, personalized strategies that make communication fun, effective, and meaningful for every client I work with.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to support children with speech and language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, and receptive and expressive language challenges. I have experience working with a wide range of clients, including those who are gestalt language processors, as well as children with childhood apraxia of speech, social communication deficits, stuttering and cluttering. I tailor my approach to meet each child’s individual needs, using play-based therapy and parent collaboration to support meaningful progress. While I’ve worked with diverse communication needs, feeding therapy is not my primary area of focus, and I’m happy to refer families to trusted specialists when appropriate.
