About Alternative Education Foundation

AEF was founded in 2003 by a group of parents who wanted a better education for their children. These parents had tried a variety of public and private schools but could not find a school that catered to their child's specific needs, academics, social skills, cognitive skills and life skills. The one-size-fits-all approach of traditional schools was not work

AEF has been fantastic Its a small safe space for kids that benefit from something different than the public system. Dr. Fain and the staff focus on building up life skills and confidence along with academics and they are experts at understanding and accommodating for kids with ADHD. Weve seen some incredible improvements with our little one who now actually gets excited to go to school.

Spencer has attended AEF High School for two and a half years. He previously attended AEFWestham for two years. My family had a lot of trepidation moving Spencer from AEFWestham mainly because of the wonderful atmosphere that teachers there provided to the students. However we made the leap with the encouragement of the teachers. We found AEF High School just as good if not better than Westham. The teachers at the High School are excellent. Whenever there are questions there is an immediate response. The AEF High School teachers are excellent educators always willing to assist and have tremendous patience and flexibility.Thank you for having AEF available to students like Spencer.

My son is a 10th grader at AEF in Davie. He has progressed academically and socially since attending AEF. The staff is a very caring staff. They have worked with us in order to bring out the best in our son. My son feels successful and is on the right track for a successful future.

AEF saved my childs 6th grade year and our sanity as parents. The overwhelmed Florida Public School System failed my Son miserably by not only letting him get lost in the system but by making him feel like it was his fault that he was not getting the support he needed.AEF not only took him in but made him feel like part of the Family and tailored his learning experience to his needs not the system. If you want to drop your child off in the morning and wait for the constant calls to your job and use school as a Summer activity for your child send them to public school. If you want the best for your child and want happy updates of their progress yes I said PROGRESS send them to AEF.

My son has been attending AEF Schools for 4 years and couldnt be happier. We tried everything from public schools military schools and even church schools. AEF was the perfect match They have small classrooms so that all of the students get involved in the lesson. They take a hands on approach of learning that has worked for my son. He now gets As helps out when asked and has a ton of friends. AEF is an awesome school

AEF is a WONDERFUL school always willing to help your child. Our son has done two summer camps and is in his second year in AEF. He has come out of his shell and loves school. Class sizes are small and teachers can focus on each child needs so they can reach their potential. AEF works on all aspects of learning which includes social and life skills. Saying all that I myself only concern is that academics seem not to always be on top of the list. Rewards are given which are primarily appears are for behavior which is great if you have behavior issue but in my case we need more focus on academics.

This is my daughters first year at AEF and I am happy with the progress she is making. She has an IEP from the public schools which provides her with to speech therapy and extra reading and math assistance she needs on top of what she is receiving from AEF. Their program is individualized for each student so that they learn at their own pace while challenged to do more. The staff is very helpful and serve as role models for the kids from the first moment they greet them with a handshake in the morning until the end of the day. They go out of their way to communicate and involve parents in the process. I would recommend AEF for children who need a smaller class setting to thrive.

AEF has not only enriched my daughters life but the entire family. They get it They understand that not every child learns the same way. They understand that every child is different and special in their own way. I appreciate and I am grateful for AEF for what they do and for what they stand for Compassion. My children now enjoy going to school. The teachers understand that some children need to learn differently than others. My son has learned to read and write but when he was in regular school no one helped him. They just told me hes behind in school and pushed him on to the next and told me he will struggle next year. But now I found a different school that cares about children and wants to him excel in school and do well. All the teachers care about the kids and the entire staff there is great.
