The Associated League of Mexican Americans, Inc. (ALMA Family Services) was established in 1975 by East Los Angeles parents to provide along with other purposes a comprehensive range of direct bilingual services for the community including for those individuals with a physical and/or developmental disability and their families. The Board of Directors includes family members and consumers.;Their mission is to promote the quality of life of families & individuals with special needs including those with an emotional, physical and/or developmental disability;by providing a range of quality community based integrated support services, by advocating for the rights and responsibilities of persons with special needs, by working with businesses and civic associations and local, state and federal officials to increase knowledge of the abilities and contributions of individuals with special needs.;Therapeutic services are provided to individuals experiencing significant emotional difficulties.
