Introduction

Hi! I’m Alex, a pediatric speech-language pathologist serving children ages 3–18 in Azle, Texas. I’m passionate about helping children develop the communication skills they need to feel connected to their families, succeed at school, and participate confidently in their communities. My approach is evidence-based while remaining flexible and individualized because every child learns differently. I strive to create therapy that is meaningful, engaging, and fun while meeting each child exactly where they are. I have 7 years of Texas public school experience so I understand how the school system operates. I have presented continuing education at local, regional, and state levels. Outside of therapy, you’ll often find me reading, gardening, or baking!

What words would you use to describe yourself?

Compassionate
Fun
Thorough
If I had to choose three words to describe myself, I would say compassionate, fun, and thorough. I care deeply about getting to know each child as an individual and understanding what makes them feel successful and confident. I also believe therapy should be enjoyable, so I bring plenty of fun and creativity into my sessions. At the same time, I’m thorough and thoughtful in my approach, making sure I understand the whole child and create therapy goals that are meaningful and functional for their everyday lives.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I’m best positioned to serve children ages 3–18 who need support with speech sounds, language, literacy, and social-pragmatic communication. I especially enjoy working with school-age children and helping them build the communication skills they need to participate more confidently at home, at school, and in their communities. I have a particular focus on language and literacy. I use my knowledge of language to provide therapy that addresses language in both oral and written forms. My approach is evidence-based but flexible, allowing me to meet each child where they are. While I’m happy to help families find appropriate resources, I’m not as well-positioned to serve children whose primary needs involve stuttering or feeding.
