Acorn Health - Upper Marlboro

I give this place more than 5 stars if possible. I am glad I found this place. I was skeptical at first since I didnt see enough reviews about them. I gave them a try. I love that they have helped my son so much. They even helped me find ways on how to approach situations in a manner to help my son meet his goals. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you bring in your own potty training chair. They make sure only to use it for your child. They return everything to you when they are done using it. They help him with many aspects of his developmental stages. My son entered this facility only saying one or two words now that he is almost 3. My son is able to say three word sentences and communicate. My son has learned so much from them and they are always careful with kids. They are friendly and welcoming which is something I love since it has been a new journey for my child and I. Once again I would recommend this place to anyone looking for ABA services.

If they had a -1 I would give it. Please think twice before taking your child here. They do not have an consistent staff. They do not work on your child goals with any consistency or routine. The Rbt and BCBAs doesnt show up everyday. Inexperience staff so the RBTs are just doing whatever. It appears they were hiring ppl just out of high school with very little training or experience. At times we felt like they were babysitters. The director doesnt communicate if any issues arise. They basically leave it up to the BCBA to deal with any concerns you may have. If your child therapist is out for weeks. They cant provide anyone else for your child. There are times when we would be on our way and get a call while driving so we had to turn back around and figure out our schedule. This was happening often. Our child has behavior issues that they didnt offer any solutions such as putting her hand in her pants. They said they blocked her. Really When it was Turning Point they were. 5 star company. Now that AcornHealth took over the reviews are sickening. They dont care about your kids. There are other ABA SERVICES that are much better. Our little was there over two years and she used to draw labeling and how can a child have the same amount of words from two years ago. They are full of it. Her breakfast and lunch would be returned home since this company took over. Finally we found an outstanding ABA program THAT are able to come into our home for 16 hours a month help with behaviors in the home including bedtime and she also goes to the center daily and also worked w PG schools. They have staff members who are stand-in when her regular RBT IS out unlike ACORNHEALTH. You are short and it can be a weeks even months of what we experienced at a time. The new company welcomed her with a welcome bag including a widget and have a very good intense potting training. Our little one used to keep her legs up on the toilet and they already managed to helped with that issue. AcornHealth wanted to get her a stool and said she does that because it helps her push it out. Really The new company have her BCBA ON staff on a daily basis. AcornHealth needs to get it together but please do your research. Folks some of these companies are out here for profit but then you have those who actually want to help your child in life. ACORNHEALTH IN UPPER MARLBORO needs help its a mess. Lastly the last day they gave us a grimy dirty potty that did not belong to us. Nasty We declined to accept it. This just shows how they really cared about our child and after seeing that. We now know why she had a bad rash on her bottom. They couldnt even give us a clean potty back. Make sure you THE REVIEWS FROM EMPLOYEES. I warned you.
