Above and Beyond Speech Therapy

We started services for my son a few months ago and Emily has made SO MUCH progress with him She immediately identified what type of language learner he was after one visit and she was spot on No other therapist had discovered and shared this information with us She communicates with my sons teacher at school. She has also given our family many resources to continue his education at home. We love her and most importantly my son loves her Thank you Above and Beyond Speech

Emily is amazing. I have seen tremendous growth and confidence in my child since attending speech therapy. She cares for and encourages her clients and supports parents in helping their kids to succeed. She is also an advocate when working with insurance companies.

Above and Beyond has an amazing group of speech therapists. As a teacher Emily and Melina are wonderful people to work with. I have seen how much my students enjoy their speech sessions and have seen results from the students that attend sessions with therapists from Above and Beyond. I had the privilege of working with Emily at Above and Beyond Speech Therapy. Emily is very caring and will always do whats best for the clients and their families. Emily puts a lot of time in behind the scenes to make sure all of the kids are well taken care of this includes collaboration with teachers other SLPs parents insurance and more. She is willing to make accommodations for time changes if there are conflicts and will even do virtual speech therapy sessions if needed. All lesson plans are individualized to each client and their interests to keep sessions interesting and interactive. Speech therapy is very fun here

I highly recommend Emily and her team if youre looking for private speech therapy in State College. My reserved now 5 year-old happily worked with Emily each week for over a year and made huge progress. She individualized his lessons to fit his interests and kept him engaged which is impressive while working with a preschoolerOur initial goal was for him to be able to say his own name how simple but important and he graduated from her program with his peers teachers and other adults being able to completely understand him. Im forever grateful to Emily for the confidence he carries in his speech now.

Emily was so supportive and encouraging of our daughter while she was in speech therapy. She made marked improvements over the course of her time with Emily and we are proud to say that she is no longer in need of speech services Emily made speech therapy fun and as parents we could see that she engages with children in a genuine caring way. She was always willing to listen to our concerns as well as to our proud moments of sharing progress that our daughter had made. After spending much of 2020 with little to no academic structure I was concerned about how any virtual learning would be effective for my seven-year-old with ADHD and many other developmental delays. Emily was engaging patient and understanding during all speech therapy zoom sessions with my daughter. She set realistic expectations and goals for the sessions and she is consistently able to stick with them. I am thankful for Emilys time and dedication to her students and Ellies continued progress even while virtual was noticeable. Emily was outstanding with our son. Unfortunately due to the pandemic and living further away we were only able to see her virtually during our speech therapy sessions with her but she still made each session so special. After only a few months of seeing Emily our son met his speech goals if not exceeded and is now right on track.
