Introduction
Hi, I’m Jennie, a speech-language pathologist based in Concord, CA. I have 13 years of experience working with children of all ages and young adults across public schools, private clinics, and home-based services. I’m passionate about helping individuals find their voice and believe in treating the whole person to support meaningful communication. My goal is to make learning meaningful, empowering both children and their families on their communication journey.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from UC San Diego and went on to complete my master’s degree in speech-language pathology at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I’m Hanen certified in It Takes Two to Talk, as well as trained in PEERS for Teens and Young Adults, and completed the Assistive Technology course at Cal State Northridge. I have extensive experience supporting individuals with complex communication needs and guiding families in using AAC devices to enhance communication.
When I’m not in therapy sessions, you can find me spending time with my husband, our two kids, and dog, Dobby. We love hiking and exploring all that the Bay Area has to offer. We're always on the look out for the best ice cream shops too!
What words would you use to describe yourself?
Play-Based
Compassionate
Resourceful
Play-Based: I believe play is the foundation of learning, so I thoughtfully incorporate speech therapy goals into each child’s interests, and following their lead to keep them engaged.
Compassionate: every child is unique, and I meet them where they are, helping them reach their fullest potential with compassion and care.
Resourceful: With experience in various local school districts, I support families in accessing the resources they’re entitled to.
Who are you best positioned to serve?
I am best positioned to support children with autism, complex communication needs, social language differences, articulation disorders, phonological processing disorders, and early intervention. As a neurodiversity affirming therapist, I meet each individual where they're at and support them to reach their fullest potential. I balance evidence-based techniques with parent concerns to best support each client on their communication journey.
