Introduction

Hello! I’m Jennifer, a speech-language pathologist providing individual and small-group speech and language services for children ages 3-12. Outside of my private practice, I work within the Oakland Unified School District, supporting a wide range of communication needs, including receptive and expressive language, social communication, articulation, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering, and social-emotional learning. I also assess, develop, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure that each child receives the targeted support they need to thrive. My goal is to foster confident, effective communication in a fun and supportive environment.

What words would you use to describe yourself?

I would describe myself as child-centered, open-minded, and engaging. My child-centered philosophy is evidence-based and focuses on building upon each child’s strengths to foster self-determination, empowering them to communicate from their unique perspective. I remain open-minded, meeting each child where they are in the moment and seamlessly blending structured learning with spontaneous interactions to ensure steady progress. At the same time, I prioritize engagement, using creative and interactive activities that keep children motivated, involved, and excited about their learning journey.

Who are you best positioned to serve?

I am best positioned to serve children ages 3-12 who need support in developing their speech and language skills. My experience in the school setting allows me to provide effective, evidence-based therapy for children with receptive and expressive language delays, social communication challenges, articulation and apraxia of speech, stuttering, and social-emotional learning needs. I work closely with children, families, and educational teams to ensure each child receives targeted support through individualized therapy and IEPs. My goal is to help every child communicate with confidence and success in both academic and social settings.
