In October 2021 we had his first intake evaluation meeting. After which my child was deemed eligible and assigned Service Coordinator 1 SC1. We worked with SC1 for about three months before being switched to Service Coordinator 2. While working with SC1 we understood what she told us which was she was looking for providers to assign to our case and it may take a while to secure most of the therapist speech occupational behavioral developmental. I was terribly shocked to hear from SC2 during our first call that the previous SC hadnt done much in the area of searching for providers as SC2 blatantly told me that after looking through the case. I felt angry that I hadnt followed up more and trusted her to do her job but SC2 assured me that she would do a better job and would indeed expedite whatever she could.Working with SC2 I gave her the same respect as the previous SC and didnt take any of my frustrations out on her. In fact I gave her the same trust and maybe a little more since she verbally told me what shed found and that she would represent our son properly.Moving forward to June 3 2022 I contacted SC2 via text message as I was concerned with the new early development therapist. We exchanged a few messages but since she was on leave that day she said she would contact me when shes back in the office the following Monday. I didnt hear from her so I followed up on Tuesday 672022 and her response made me feel that she was not connected or concerned with Tyrekes case. Her responses werent what wed last spoke about and didnt make sense. But this then made me curious so I requested and reviewed all of my childs records with TEIS. SC2 made 3 requests for service 1x after a meeting and another after realizing I was upset SC1 only requested once. So if she can say that SC1 didnt do what she was supposed to do what am I to think of SC2 Her actions and my childs records shows failure to provide appropriate services. There were also errors in the documentation stating that I requested a psych eval. Which is not true. I asked when or if they would have a diagnosis on what my childs condition is and the response was that it would require a psych eval. I was then asked if thats something that I would like to do and I said yes if thats whats required for a diagnosis. We request that this reflects properly in his records. Theres also several other typos with my childs name he was referenced as Tyrese and even Samuel throughout the records. This further shows the negligencelaxed nature of the services rendered. The previous text is a summary of what I sent as an Admin complaint with copies of the text messages and the records that I received from TEIS. The response to the complaint from Nashville was that neither coordinator failed to provide sufficient service coordination services. They took the side of the TEIS SC and flat out insinuated that I was lying. SC2 claims that she made other efforts to locate providers other than whats reflected in their log but thats even a sign of negligence because it would have completely solved most of my issue had they documented properly. Apparently this is ok with her higher ups because its clearly noted in my report but SC2 has no consequences for it. Another item that I found funny is SC2 wanted to make it clear in my report that they would have never said to me that SC1 didnt do their job. And guess what admin complaint took TEIS side on this one too. I wouldnt lie I have no reason to. I can not gain anything from them by doing so. The SC on the other hand...My hope to all families who are faced with depending on services like this is to document document document You are your childs voice. Dont be afraid to speak up if something is wrong. Is this a great resource to have Absolutely But parents stay on your SC for services that your child is eligible for. Out of speech occupational behavioral developmental my child only received early childhood development therapy.
