Nicklaus Children's Nirvair Chowdhury Midtown Center

We came here after a full glass door fell and broke on my 6 years old son. Hs was completely traumatized with two deep cuts and multiple cuts from glass all over his body. We arrived around 915pm at night after long drive. Staff was super nice but nurse practitioner was impatient from the start. She did not even speak with my son or tried to sooth him though he was in pain and trauma. She came to the room to do stitches. Did not even explained to him what she is going to do surprising him with anesthesia shot on his shoulder. Surprisingly he felt stub on his deepest cut so like a tired hurt 6 y.o he start crying and moving. NP still did not say a word to him and asked nurses to help her hold him to the bed strongly. This all happened so fast. She told me while he is screaming that we will need to go to the ER if he would not stop moving but his little body was full of cuts and he was super hurt from tying him and holding him down so strong to the bed without giving me the opportunity to speak with him and calm him down explains him what is going on. After 5 min of him crying and moving and 4 ppl holding him strongly the NP decided to stop stitching him in the middle and to send him in the middle of the night to the ER. Finally i had a chance to speak with my 6 years old son and explain to him. He promised he will not move even when it hurts but asked me to ask not to tie his body and hold him so strong. I begged her crying to give it one more chance and finish the work she did not even want to listen she called the doctor who did not even talk with my child but just told me they are sending me to the ER in the middle of the night instead of try one minute to finish stitching him and left it half done and him bleeding all over. I think they just wanted to go home at 10pm and they did not care that my kid is traumatized and full of cuts and to give him 5 min to adjust. I was so shocked from the way the treated little child in a place that suppose to treat little kids. Both him and me were traumatized twice by this treatment from the doctor and NP. Both of us were crying all the way home for the long drive. Please do not go there

Disappointing administration. The staff at the front desk did not process the insurance and called later to say that we need to pay the total bill of 293 for consultation and now when i am calling to update the insurance details their customer service people just pass on the call from one to another and hence i gave the brief of why i am calling to atleast five people and still no. Moreover Dr told on our visit that they are testing my daughter for rash but results come out as covid negative what was the reason for rash i still dont know.

Our nurse Melissa was beyond amazing She was so sweet and caring and took the time to explain everything. She deserves 10 stars

Initially going into the hospital I immediately notice that me and my family wasnt treated the same as the patients before us which were Caucasian. Thats no problem so I continue the visit my son.Whom just got bitten by a dog so he was wasnt able to stand for a long time. So as Im do ordering the Uber my my kids and the father are closer by the door. Im more towards the street where I can see the Uber so the security guard Francisco Tall security at the front desk who lied and told me his name was George immediately came outside said that he was going to call the police not evening going with the protocols of saying that it was too loud or we have to get off the premises. He immediately said that he was going to call the police on me and my kids and Im 3 months pregnant. I always spike with Allondra Bermudenz RoxanaIvis PeraA who will didnt help at all being The operation coordinator. I feel like I was racially profiled so please do not bring your kids there thank you.

I go here for Occuptational therapy and my sons therapist is Karina Geiger who is truly the best therapist to ever exist A 5 star is not enough to explain the amazing skills and techniques she practices with my son she deserves the world for her amazing patience and time dedicated to her patients and us as parents. If I was anyone who was looking for a good OT it would 1000 be Karina Geiger. Strongly reccomend her.

Answered all my questions and I couldnt be happier Its such a big difference between the emergency room at Nicklaus childrens hospital Where I will NEVER go againwe had to wait 4.5h to see a doctor At the urgent care we were taken care of in 30min This is the place I will always keep in mind first from now on

Ammended ReviewThe last two times we have gone the staff has been incredibly helpful and have facilitated moving through the process so much quicker. A definite improvement that we are all grateful for2 years agoThe staff can be really helpful when they want to be but this place has more unreasonable rules about when they can and cant do stuff that are insane in general and untenable for a working parent. Weve been coming to do outpatient x-rays here but planning to look for a new place. Geographically convenient and procedurally not.

I came in to get my son checked out because he was ill. The wait was kind of long but I understand that they see people in the order of the severity of their condition so it wasnt so bad considering.The staff that helped my son once we got in were super nice and knowledgeable and gave me extra tips to relive my little slugger of being uncomfortable.The facility was clean. The rooms were clean as well and had adequate supplies. There are no issues with parking as they have a parking lot in the back.Overall we had a good experience here. Hopefully I have no reason to take my son to urgent care knock on wood but should I have to I would certainly come to this location as it is close to my house.

Unfortunately I had to visit this place for my daughter when she had a fever. At the reception I was informed that the deductible will be 75 and that will be all and my insurance will cover the rest. While I am waiting for the doctor she did submit order to do a list of tests despite the fact my daughter didnt need any. Anyway when the doctor arrived she informed me the my daughter has reseola and she doesnt have to do anything and just to wait for 3 days and everything will be fine. Later on I received 2 invoices 1- 75 for the doctor 2- 200 for the unnecessary test. I called the billing department and I explained the fact the I was informed the copayment only 75 and the tests were requested before the doctor diagnosis my daughter and I should not be responsible for the additional charges however they did not cooperate and insisted that I have to pay both charges. I feel that place was opened only to generate revenue even if that was done by misleading the patients or Adding additional unnecessary tests in order to make money. After my bad experience with this place I will not recommend them for anyone and I hope they dont overcharge other people they way they did with me.Really disappointed how they use patient to generate money instead of helping them. I wish that day that I went to any other urgent care who will really see me as a patient not a money machine.
